    Best QWERTY smartphone

Anyone recommend a smartypantsphone that ALSO HAS QWERTY BUTTONS? Touchscreens are all cool for surfing and angryburds but pretty $hite for actually doing productive stuff like sending emails and updating contact details. Call me old fashioned but I like being able to actually make and receive calls without having to actually look at the phone. Battery that can manage more than an hour of talking would be a bonus.

Ideally something showerproof, semi tough and can actually fit in my pocket (flipphone or slider). A 3" screen would probably be enough. (I know hipsters hate clamshell/flip phones but they're actually the most sensible phone format IMHO). Must have wifi, do exchange thingie with m.google.com and have a dictaphone.....and that's about all I need. Needs semi decent processor to handle couple of thousand contacts.

Wish the manufacturers would stop designing phones for kiddies.

You could always get a touchscreen phone and get an accessory like this...

Sorry for the expired URL. I remember seeing it the other day. I'm sure other people sell it or something like it

I don't know if it was the best, but my Nokia E63 was great. I only really upgraded to an iPhone for the bigger screen, but now I wouldn't consider anything else.

I have one of these Motorolla XT316,
Has Android 2.3.4, I have had it for about 5 months now maybe, been a great phone up till know, could be just me been rough but its started playing up, when I get a chance ill be taking it into Telecom to get it checked out.
But besides the recent stuff its been a fantastic phone, the buttons are a tad small but stick out enough so you dont miss the key and mash the pad, its also touch screen and has a good screen lock.

Is that a "fire"? One of my customers reckons they're ace. Keep the options coming.....

iPhone 4...no thanks.....mate dropped his from just above waist height and glass smashed. Absolute joke. The old one was tougher.

Just done a factory reset on it and exported my contacts to Gmail,
Its as good as a new one, could have been an app I downloaded and done something, Would still recommend it,
I had a samsung galaxy something a rather bog standard cheap android phone, just had enough of the touch screen haha.
