    Bloody Moto Guzzis

Arg - feck.... I hate it when you pull the bloody rear drive after the dreaded right hand foot peg vibe of death only to find a slightly spun carrier bearing... Bummer... Specially since I ordered a replacement U/J ...

Still - its amazing how fast you can reduce a Tonti Guzzi to a pile of bits....

Its even more amazing how much you drink afterwards - bloody italian bikes, always a drama

Was the hub design copied from beemers?

Haha Paul, they call it "character". Not like my VFR750F which has that Honda character.

Ha - character eh? Well its got that in buckets. Moot comfort as I slammed my knucles into the vise sharpening the great silver steel whacking bar that removes the C3 carrier bearing

You mean like when you just start and ride it anywhere, anytime and never contemplate doing mechanical repairs...?

Thanks - I'm always pulling bits off the dratted thing yets its oddly 'reliable' if you know what i mean. However there is a lot of specialist knowledge with these things and often I end up doing things twice... Guzziology is a work of folk art - every home should have one I reckon.

the difference in my experience is whether you need the thing back on the road to get you to work or not. If not, Ah well, I'll sort it when the bits arrive. If so: stress and anxiety (not with Guzzis: bikes generally)

True, I ride a 29 year old BMW as a daily rider and the interesting bikes sit in the shed.....
There is not equivalent of Guzziology for BMW as they got it right first time... They are j after all just a v twin copy of a beemer...... with a weird clutch.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

I'm trying to fix the stripped odometer in mine at the moment....why do they make it out of crappy plastic ??

Why is some of the engineering on a Guzzi pure genius while others is WTF were they thinking?
Is that an Italian way of "teez characto-inductiono into zee modobyke..." ?

"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
