    Wanganui Street Race

I just deposited my cash into the Cem Circuit bank account and scan/emailed in my completed entry form

So I should be another entry on the sidecar list at least! How many are we up to now that are entered?

Looking forward to it, gotta thank Neville a hundred times cause he has said he will repair and prepare the bike for Wanganui for me, even though he has his own work to do. Chur!!

He sees the bigger picture regarding racing. A lot just think its all about them, & the chequred flag.

yea need people like that for sure! keeping the sport alive, thats why I want to make as many events I can on the nz sidecar calendar.. both North and South even if I get lapped at least I'm making numbers up until I get better/faster..

its a mint sport and gotta revive it a bit! especially down south.. After being at a meet with 19 bikes, this next south island club meets gonna seem empty..

can we get more than 3 bikes? we'll see... haha

almost need 2 bikes.. one north and one south..

    hmmmm..

WTF is it with some people though??
Goes back to the threads about why we race. Some want to win at any cost, some want to just partake, some want stress relief from work, and some just want to have fun.
Not everyone rocks up to a meet with their gear in pristine condition, prized for a win. Some don't want to work on their machines over a race weekend, whilst others have a team of 4 people or more helping out.

Some like Barry Fane just want to put a smile on their dial, and get more fun out of their life - and Des James absolutely helped him with that by supplying him with a race ready machine. Good on you Des.
You Steve supplied Gordy and Kick with a classic machine (ok - so it fucked out for one day - but it still enabled those two guys to have a fun weekend).
The Lawrances made sure that the CBR1000 machine was out there for another crew to have fun on.
Kai and Phil had their machine and race weekend helped out by others so they could have fun at a new track, and meet new competitors.
Nev is now repairing the AGIP bike so it makes up the numbers at Wanganui - (I have to buy you a bourbon or two Nev).
Darren Pate came 5th in the wet race - and I must add, on about 22 year old wets! Only about 1 second behind the Lawrances on newer wets!
Would Darren have been happier by spending $1400 on new wets for 1 more position? Doubt it.
Johnny and Rat - they are so far infront of the others, but should all the rest of the field pack it in and not play? Those out there are still enjoying themselves regardless of their position on the track.

Do we have to spend truckloads of money to have the fun we're having? No! By not spending money, who are we hurting? Only our own pride.
Why do certain people expect more from some people, and then deem that they have a right to bag you if you don't perform? Don't make sense to me.

What I'm trying to say, is that without all the above people and actions of 'slower/backmarker/older machinery' being out there, we would not have any class running in NZ. We need numbers in our sport - and not all of them need to be at the pointy end of the field. I'm glad we have some people in our class that can see the bigger picture, and help out others with advice, time, organisation, scrutineering, parts, 'Have-a-go' days, money, machinery, etc. You guys/gals know who you are - keep up the good work. Or, unfortunately, we will all have no where to go and play.

If I thought winning on the F1 was important I wouldnt have 40k plus tied up in two other sidecars & a solo, so others can get an opportunity to spank their monkeys too, or flick their beans, as the case may be.
