Ok, not a racing sidecar but cool anyway

The Barry Sheene meet is on Labour weekend 20-22 october, any South Island sidecars that make the trip up, I guarrantee their entry money will be paid back ( not from organisers, but from fellow competitors up here ). entry forms are out now.
haha, looks like driver is in the feet back race position.. it is pretty cool.. I think I would want the swinger to be able to move round more when the pace picks up haha
would be wicked on the dunedin to chch mission
very generous of yas! I'll crunch some numbers and see if we can commit to it.. still a fair bit of coin getting bike up there and back..
Kickaha mentioned some one heading up that might tow a trailer? they racing an outfit too?
if there is shared costs it might become doable - have to ask the swinger if he could do it too..
thats true, someone will be keen to hop on up there haha..
mmm will see.. im sure it will still be too expensive for me at the mo.
and that old uni thing gets in the way of racing sometimes.
will see..
We have a NZSRA member, owner driver for NZL Transport, I will contact him for a mates rates quote.
I sent a bike from Tauranga to Kickaha in Christchurch 18 months back for $200ish on a backload.
I heard of a sidecar that changed islands a while back & it cost $40 in an empty stock truck.
this is sounding good! let me know if you dig anything up, or let me know who to call/bug
legend! I would def take you up on the van accomodation, and brilliant bout entry and race gas! you guys are legends..
I'm keen and getting keener with all the stuff mentioned above
still waitin for Kickaha to shed bit more light on the mate he had that might tow a trailer? or was that a nah earlier?
Man you south islanders are spoilt!
hahaas long as someone pays entry and gas I'd be stoked
yip workin on plans now - you'll have to fill me in on details - where is the race track? and where would I need to fly to/get to haha.
if i can get a cheap plane ticket up there and a cheap way to get bike up there im in, or if someone wants to tow trailer and bike i could hitch ride with them too i guess - whatevers cheap.. cheap is the key! im on the old student budget.
haha i recon aye! we'll return the favour one day![]()
haha, i ditched drinking and eating and i spend every last penny on motorbikes and racing
and yip - more than dead broke! I owe... hahaha
as for the barry sheene, just looked it up

looks fricken cool! is it team event as they mentioned for sidecars, they match a kiwi up with an aussie of similar machine/lap times?
haha.. hope there is a slow aussie for me to fight
im keen as.. will see how it pans out getting bike and myself up there.
the numbers didn't look too flash,
but yea, if I fly chch to auckland which is cheapest, I can get dropped off in chch and picked up in auckland by family and taken to hampton downs or wherever i need to go at least (hopefully they won't ask for gas money from me hahah!)
and if I crash in someones van for free out front of motel or whatever thats accom sorted
and if someone covers race gas and entry thats the actual racing sorted.. will run my tyres to the wire![]()
I'd have approx 360-400 left over after return flights and putting some money aside for food for the 3 days, to get the sidecar from chch to hampton downs.. if this only covers costs one way thats ok.. although I would have to prob call in more favours with the bike after, would need tow and storeage somewhere for a couple weeks while i save cash to transport it back down south..
so yea figures are tight but im keen haha
or. if someone is driving up a car, could tow bike and trailer, could put in money for that depending on over all costs of petrol for tow car and ferry ticket for us and car and trailer etc. would drive with them if possible, could share driving etc. and would use money allocated for flights to cover driving costs instead..
getting it on the back of an empty truck or something for cheap would be ideal though! Oh yea - the bike could be collected anytime from chch after Sept 23 to make its way north.. if thats useful info or not.. haha
anyway those are my updates.. bit of a rant.
also - have to check uni exam dates, looks like labour weekend is damn close to final exam season. which would suck
