    i note that times at Ruapuna have slowed noticeably since transponders came into use.
    Back then every lap was recorded by stopwatch. I used to have the 10 lap race sheets until about 3 years ago. You may have gone 1/2 sec quicker or slower each lap, but the average still showed we were doing 1:42's.

    Their National points series, is devided up over a much longer time frame, and I think it only consists of three rounds, these days at least.

    correct, and they fill out a G pretty good..
