Bigger hit with a SOFT hammer required (copper mallet). Try putting the nut back on so the thread doesn't get damaged too ...it looks as if its been there for a while

Its hard to see on my phone, but if you are sure there is no circlip or wire type retainer ring in there, then as nev said beat it like you are tony veitch. If you dont have a soft hammer at least wind a sacrifical nut on the end and hit that.

I would love to pop around and help, but im abit busy, heath and bianca are going throgh a rough patch didnt you know.

.. Gave it a few more taps, I can't see much of whats going on in the swingarm but the way the shaft is shaped I don't think it can slide through the bearings.. maybe the bearings have to come out as well? seems dumb.. I was reluctant to hit too hard incase I fuck the bearings.

Started trying to take off the brake disc to see if maybe it slides out the other way but nah the wheel hub is welded on it looks like, its not going that way. (and the brake disc can't even come off until the whole assembly is out of the swingarm so that was a waste of good swear words and knuckle skin undoing those siezed up bolts.. pretty sure it has to come out the way I originally thought)

Don't worry about shagging the bearings, they're probably due for replacement anyway. By hitting them in any way, shape or form they'll have the races dented by the balls and won't last long anyway. Dig the seal out and see what size or numbers are written on the bearings. I still wouldn't mind betting the shaft goes out the way you first thought but then I can't see from the photo either. Measure the OD of the spline and let us know what the bearing numbers are and they can be cross referenced in my bearing cattle-dog..or anyone else's for that matter.

I felt that the classic classes were given one run under duress so the promoter wouldnt be obliged to refund the Friday practice fee.
Hopefully next year we wont be upstaged by a sponsor that hogs good track time for no more than previous sponsors have paid not to.
FFS, Ill spot them 5k next year to call it the "Warwick blows goats" classic festival if thats all it costs.
