More of a faceplant than a handstand

Pressed the new bearing back into the swing arm, pressed the axle stub back into the bearing and swingarm. Minus the seals as we never managed to source replacements, not for lack of trying though!
Had cleaned up all the mating surfaces with emery paper (after a bit of de-rusting and smoothing off.. this bike doesn't look like its been taken apart in a long, long, looong time)

Re-greased all the cleaned up mating surfaces during the reassembly - 6 pivot points on the rear swingarm and suspension setup - all of which were very stiff and would stick in place before I took em off and cleaned em up.

Once all back on everything moved very free and smooth with very little friction.. so it was the moment of truth to reinstall the rear shock

Chucked it in, blah - not much different. Still doesn't feel like it springs back properly. Its better than it was for sure, it rebounds a little bit. But thats probably more due to all the pivot points I cleaned and greased up rather than an improvement in the shock.

Since the bike shop said the shock is perfectly fine (I took it in and asked for them to rebuild it, they said its fine, moved the rebound adjuster 8 clicks and then gave it back) I will have a look at if anything is bent on the swingarm or something like that.. twisting it or something to make it stick. I dunno.. one of those things that will require a bit more f*cking around. there is nothing siezing up in the pivot points so its gotta be the shock itself or maybe something bent/twisted where the shock mounts..

Or maybe its just the way it is? need someone to look at it in the bike who knows their sidecar suspension setups.

LCR carbon passenger tray, LCR (or copy) centre spindle hubs and wheels, and maybe a few more bits pinched or copied off LCR.
Motor was out, was making a funny noise and needs a lookin' at
Fairing and the bike in general needs a tidy up.. Harris is on the case!

His black bike was sitting in his shed too ontop of and under piles of stuff, he had the motor out too, one motor is sold for 2kish (the one he ran at nats) and a new (even gruntier maybe) motor is going into the black bike and is still for sale at around the 8k mark, he told Phil 7k not long ago and told me 8.5k yesterday. I'm sure he's open to offers

The shock is upside down it won't like the oil all trying to sit above the piston, and
    being forced into the res.

Some shocks that doesn't matter and they'll work anyway up

Looks like thats the way up it has always been and it's not as though it was a slow bike "back in the day"

Is it the same shock? Who says it had to work well to go fast?

My theory is easy to test. Take the spring off, test it both ways. You Will need to bleed it by pushing it through it's stroke a few times both ways.

yea... sadly. Could make a bit of a video next time I'm in cheech and get it online on steves place or something..

Shock is the shame shock its had for a long time now. Front shock is mounted same way and similar or same unit. With the front - push it down, it springs up to where it was quickly. Rear doesn't spring back quite to where it was, but it does spring back now, before it just stuck at the bottom. Can't have the rebound wound all the way up on these or they sieze up apparently. I tried it out and it does seem to make it slow to move. Have it wound about halfway point at the moment. Had played with it at each click. Seems to like being wound right off the most.

Brakes are all back, rekitted - One front caliper was shagged and not viable to repair so will get a trademe special to replace it and a new disc. Rear and side discs were still thick and straight by eye.

Had new front wheel bearings for it haven't got around to the front swing arm etc yet. But should be on the track in a couple of weeks for a test

for a 5 stud hub, not for the agip bike but came with it. Not much use to me.

Good for wet/or spare or something maybe.

10 3/4" wideish Rim / 270mm ish I think, thats from outside of the lip to outside lip.

    14" Rim diameter

Stud holes measure 110mm across from one hole to either of the two holes opposite it and measure 70mm from one hole to either one of the holes directly next to it. (you'd hope so or funny stud pattern eh)

Didn't measure center hole and it's a bit chilly to go back outside.

If no one has a need for it will chuck it at the dump in a week or so.
