Wiped off some of the grease from the brake bias parts to have a look at why it didn't seem to actually control the bias between front and rear brake application.
I think I found the culprit; missing circlip maybe?
While it was still in the bike I noticed that the whole adjuster bar just slopped around and moved pretty freely - after cleaning off some grease today from the disassembled bits I see there is a groove where a circlip probably should go that should hold that ball joint in place in the center of the adjuster bar...
And once its slid into its housing in the pedal assembly it should all stay in one spot and be pretty tight. It wasn't before, but if I find a circlip for it and put it back together I recon it will probably work as it should?
Rest of the bits need a bit of a clean up, but everything fits together pretty nice and tight so I think its all fine with most of the setup.
This little pin here holds one of the linkages onto the lever that acts on the bias bar, and the pin is smaller than the hole drilled, this makes a little bit of slop too.. might be lucky to find a way to make a sleeve or spacer for it.. its not the hugest amount of play though.. but will give it a go to get rid of it.
And also, when I was still in ChCh and putting the swingarm and stuff back on I cleaned off some grease where the brake pedal goes and noticed under all the grime was actually 2 roller bearings completely siezed up and covered in shit. Banged them out and will replace them as well as cleaning up the brake pedal shaft. That should give it a better feel and ofcourse can't hurt to have moving parts clean and friction free!
