I tried to get hold of Dave, it seems that he has turned into a complete fuckin 'tard & wont speak to my mate Gary, because his wife left him (Gary that is) go figure
I stored all Daves household possesions for over six months in my barn for nothing, including loading it on & off the truck (old house) through the same mutual 3rd party I tried to get his number off, & he didnt have the common decency to even phone me then, or ever.
Apparently he's in Perth now, but I wouldnt waste my time on him. Clearly he's some kind of self centred asshole now, not the fun guy I once raced with, & I hope he sees this.
Nah no frighting tales unfortunately haha, because it was only us and Aaron on the track i could just take my time and ease into it slowly picking up the pace as i found out how the chair reacted to different inputs.
Only minor stuff to sort, i'm not happy with the size of the knee cups as i'm not the smallest fellow around its a bit of a tight fit for my legs, we need to make an extra grab hole for the swinger and the biggest thing is to try and get it over the 65mm height as its at around 55mm but we can't see how to do it without fitting taller shocks but its been complyed with this set up before so i'm not sure what to do there, we didn't have any issues at puke which is a bumpy shithole and nothing touched or scraped.

I prefer external handles to holes. You cant grab your hand around a hole like you can a handle & so can have your hand shaken off.
Plus theyre easier to find in a hurry.
Holes just stop your hand from blowing in the breeze, handles are for hanging on to, unless you put two holes side by side & glass a piece of alkathene inside & outside of the bit in between to grab around.
That sucks man... what a shame, woulda been cool to get vince and dave back on the agip bike for like a wangas or paeroa parade lap or something one day.. Oh well.. it is what it is. I have a lot of Vince and Dave's stuff here now from Mo.. gonna read through it all, stuff Dave wrote, letters to potentiol sponsors, race season plans/goals aims n stuff. It's pretty neat.
Thanks for trying to get in touch with him, Bob. Vince is still around at least, I have a biggish poster of the agip bike signed by Vince hehe..
Is Vince mechanic for Dawe/Unsworth on the old windle?
I think Vince is the one that knows how to make sidecars go fast. Team Agip & team Adam are proof of that, he's a real thinker.
Those Agip guys were quite organised & fairly serious for their time.
The stuff you have should stay with the outfit wherever it goes, it makes it that much more real.
The ex Scrivy, Pate outfit had the potential to be one of NZ's true historic short bikes too, until it was repowered.
Maybe someone could buy Gordys & Pate's outfits, swap the motors over & get things back how they should be.
most people who cut holes for handles don't do it properly either, they should be glassing in a bit of 1/2 inch or so piper in behind so you're actually able to grip something not just a thin bit of fiberglass with a sharpish edge, still not as good as a handle like Bob says where you can actaully grip all the way around and hang on to though
Yeah I remember the dickhead coming up to us after a race in 1990 at Wangas and complaining that I had cut him off...the plonker was trying to go round the outside of Graeme and I at the Berlin Wall and when the gap closed due to the Matchy using ALL of the road available he then cut our nose off over the bridge. I told him to "Fuck off...he was trying to go through a gap that was never going to be there." He slunk off with his tail between his legs...dork![]()
