I dont think its fair blaming those going to Aussie for the low entries at the Nats, there is only 5 or 6 moderns going, so there should be plenty left around, pity only 3 out of 7 locals only doing there local round, but that happens quite regularly i think. The sidecars didnt go to Aus this year & we promised them we would in 2014 so they would continue to support our BSOC meet, & we had a great feild at that. We will not be going to Aus in 2015 so will be supporting the Nats then, & i dont think MNZ will pull the plug on us as who will race in our place. You cant really blame those who want to race in Aus, as its free freight, free entries & pit garages, & works out alot cheaper than going south, as well as racing on an ex GP track with heaps of other sidecars. The Aussies moved their round so they could come here, abit like we tried to do here, with the backing of Billy, until that fell through... Chris
I not just blaming those who go to OZ, I'm blaming anyone who doesn't support their local rounds when they could, Pig and Goober the best example will be at Wangas but not doing either of the rounds down here
If anyone thinks we cant be replaced at Nationals they're wrong, anyone remember 250GP?
The original proposal for Tri series rounds to be National rounds for sidecars sucked for anyone outside of the North Island
No-one was saying we couldn't be replaced what we are saying is that is not even being discussed at the moment. Yeah okay its been talked about for bloody years and probably will be for the next hundred. But you are making a big deal out of hearsay not fact.
As far as the original proposal goes in regards to the tri-series being the Nationals as well...A. that would have solved the issue you seem to have now about people going to Aussie instead of doing Nationals and B. If you had come to the AGM you would have seen that nearly every member supported the decision.
A little more positivity would be good

No body move... I dropped my brain
Don't panic,I've got this.......Well I thought I did til somebody pulled the rug out from under me!!!!!
Seriously,Theres no chance sidecars will be dropped next year,The manual states "If it's not run for 2 years",It ran last year and will be running this year. The supp regs stated 10 entries received by the closing date and that was achieved.....JUST
The problem we face is,We need to get a minimum 10 entries for the class to make it viable for the host clubs too run them,As with other classes its not such a problem as they can be combined and we will be doing so for 2014,I had a discussion recently with a local sidecar team that wanted me to run with 6 at Taupo for the TT.Yip we can do that,BUT the entry fee will be,The normal entry fee multiplied by 10,Divided by 6 equaling around $450 per rig,Manfeild for the final round will be around $600(3 days of racing).
I seriously doubt the board are going to suddenly have a change of heart next year,So maybe we ALL need to get on the same page and try and work out something for the future.
As much as I would love to race a side chair or swing (it looks like a shit load of fun), I can't afford to do that and get my knee down.......

The clash seems to be an ongoing thing, what with travel times involved to get a container (it's OK Scrivy, they use them properly) to and from Australia.
I think SCRA should approach Cemetry circuit about making the two circuit races of the Suzuki series two day events, to make it worth it for south island chairs to make the trip. Then we can run the nats as proposed this year.
Or sidecars only run a national points series every other year.
The former would be my preference. The latter would see some teams give up completely I think.
