Did they buy the tub bits in off Louie or did they get some fabricated locally?

He had access to a wrecked LCR Chassis which the front end was still ok, they got all the tub bits and other components crack tested and by the last weekend the front tub was back on an they were just waiting for the last few parts to be sorted this week ready to go in the container on saturday for aussie.

theres also a pre '82 class starting up which will run with the moderns I think.

New Zealand Sidecar Association is on Facebook.

MNZ has the Technical Rules on their website.

NZCMRR also has the classic rules on their website.

Is that because Modern F2 are not raced much in NZ, or because there is a slow turnover?

It may be different for sidecars, I'm thinking about my 2 wheeler. She's '97 and starting to cost me more to keep on the road.

How popular is each class, and which ones are turning over at the moment?

Are there also different races for skill/experience/power?

There are not many in NZ and they dont come up for sale very often, to get one you'd most likely have to build one or bring one in

F1 and classics would be the two biggest classes

Would most people start with classics? Then if inclined once experienced, move to F1?
What are the ballpark figures for each of F1 and classics?

    Cool

A good classic is just as fast as most moderns here, they arent learner bikes, and cost twice as much to run if you have a gay methanol one, triple that if its a triumph or norton clone thing.

A good Classic is as fast as midfield Moderns depending on the track

Start in whatever class you think you'll like the most, not sure on what you'd get a F2 for like most things it depends on availibily, age, condition, spare parts

    Pate's F1 as a roller he's asking 6k for, so for between 8-10k you'd have a pretty good bike

Its in the outdated rules, along with no Japanese parts, no superchargers, no tyrewarmers etc...... but hey you can have 6 speed gearboxes, short stoke engines and billet everything else.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.
