On Saturday, July 12, 2014, without the influence of third parties, a
serious accident the sidecar-trailer combination by Kurt Hock and Enrico
Becker occurred in the last third of the session of the Sidecar World
    Championship at Sachsenring.

To secure the accident can be announced that the team with high speed in
the Saxony curve crossed the gravel and unrestrained slid into the
    barriers.
Instant and immediately initiated rescue efforts could not prevent the
passenger Enrico Becker still succumbed to his injuries at the accident
    site.

Kurt Hock was transferred to the Klinikum Chemnitz, where he was given
    immediate medical attention.

The organizers and all participants speak of the family by Enrico Becker
from their deepest sympathy and assure their sincere condolences.

Enrico Becker was one of the most famous and successful German passenger
side of the car scene and he is the international sidecar racing missing.

Our thoughts and hopes are in this difficult time with the families of
    Enrico Becker and Kurt Hock.

At the request of the family and sidecar starting grid, the race is as
scheduled on Sunday, July 13, 2014 held at 16:35 clock at the Sachsenring.

NZ Pre '76 Classic Sidecar For Sale!!

Max Wallace has listed his pre '76 Coventry climax outfit on Trademe.
$6000 with the trailer or $4500 on its own (it dosent say that on the ad, but I asked him), which is fantastic value for money.
Its a reliable little unit & im picking the engine would respond well to a bit of tuning.

Coventry climax....is that a fancy Hillman Imp motor? I think I saw one in a portable fire pump once over the Shore.

DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

Nope, nothing to do with Imps. NZ Fire Service used these and a larger (980cc I think) on portable water pumps. This originally was built by John Anderson for the Chapman brothers from Wiauku. Bruce Chapman bought another engine off me about 13 years ago as a spare (I've still got the magneto off it if anyone wants one) and 'borrowed' a Cosworth cam off me to get a hotter cam made for the Climax to the same specs...never seen it since Don't think Max got the spare engine when he bought the outfit though.
