No argument from me re anything there....But it is better to get any discussion and argument out of the way before putting it into the rule book.
i was only involved on the fringes of the preliminary discussions about the pre 82/89 rules. if I'd known how much work I was going to get as a result I'd have got deeper involved at that stage, lol...Those rules are really pretty simple but shit the cheating and just plain wrong interpretations...Not helped by the all in races oop north where running wider rims on your pre 82 to stay with the pre 89's is (or seems to be from here) common.
For what it's worth, there's a very good Z1 going to come on the market soon at what may be a good price. All the right bits in the motor and very quick on petrol....It'd make a great sidecar motor.
pardon my ignorance but what is a GSX1135?Pre 82 specifically excludes the following: ... Suzuki GSX 1135
Ken: Suzuki '80 GS1100 Sidecar || Hack Nutz Racing (HackNutzR.US)
Sold in North America as the GS1150. Effectively the 2nd generation 16V 1100 motor. 16inch fronts, lot of square tube in the frames and quite different shaped cam cover.
Allegedly came in some markets with welded cranks....
Most of the guys here are at the NZGP meeting for the next four days Ken. Local to me but I'm only going for a look tomorrow. Doubtless there'll be excuses and bragging appearing here soon.

We 3 practice sessions today which went ok
Both Spike/Astrid and Aaron/Tracey apparently did engine swaps with Spike running a 1.41 on the new engine after the changeover
Barry/Robbie doing 1.44 on the Shorty
Some filthy dirty solo rider dumped oil on the track and the Ambulance also went out twice for solo riders
Pirate/Darren broke down in one session
I hear Barry and Robbie are getting new leathers

Fucking hell, that's not all that's getting fucked up so far there's been about 6-7 engine changes by three teams, swingers getting thrown on their arse and the two fastest sidecar teams in the country (excluding Nodrog) throwing themselves down the track, I'm not sure any other event I have been to has seen as many slabs owed in such a short time
Pretty eventful weekend so far and we still have a day to go
Tracey is in a comfortable condition tonight after a major scare with neck injury. The paramedic handed me a pair of scissors & told me to negotiate with her where we were going to cut her leathers off.
It was a relationship building experience I don't care to repeat any time soon.
Thanks to all the people that txt with offers of support etc, & especially Robbie Shorter & Jo for giving a hand.
