Depends what you're repowering it with

edit: actually I dont think it makes fuck all difference, very few of them in at least the last decade or more seem to build them any other way and they use all brands of engines

Wonder how they stop them from twisting cases and destroying cranks.

Anyhoo, looks tight with a 600 in there. A thou would be a bitch to fit.

they way the chair is braced stops any lateral movement, or at least contains it to a reasonable level.

you have more risk of it flexing length ways and pulling the head and barrels off.

P.S. I'm pretty sure a couple of sidecars have destroyed cranks before.

Most of the force into the motor would be along the chassis under brakes

Ask Bert about cranks in his homebuilt stuff, he did a few

    Some more from ebay
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-F2-R...item4635023557

HI AND WELCOME TO MY AUCTION FOR MY PRIDE AND JOY. I AM ONLY SELLING THIS DUE TO THE REALISATION THAT I AM NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO RACE THIS DUE TO MY HEALTH ISSUES. I HAVE A BAD BACK AND OTHER THINGS GOING ON AT THE MOMENT.

THERE IS A HELL OF A LOT OF HISTORY EASILY OBTAINABLE FOR THIS OUTFIT IF WANTED.

IT IS A DERBYSHIRE OUTFIT 1OF 2 MADE. THE 1ST ONE WAS A LIGHT WEIGHT TYPE AND THIS ONE, THE 2ND, BEING SLIGHTY HEAVIER ALLOWING TO BE RACED AROUND THE ISLE OF MAN FOR THE TT. THERE SHE WAS CHRISTENED "WINNIE" AND IT'S RIDER AND PASSENGER ACHIEVED BEST NEWCOMER AWARDS. I COULD GO ON A LOT MORE BUT WON'T UNLESS THE NEW BUYER IS GENUINLEY INTERESTED.

I HAVE MORE PICTURES IF REQUIRED AND A VIDEO OF IT RUNNING IF YOU SO DESIRE!

THE OUTFIT COMES FITTED WITH A HONDA CBR600 F2 ENGINE WITH FLAT SIDE CARBS. THE ENGINE HAS HAD WORK DONE BY MINSTRAL ENGINEERING. PORTED/SHAPED HEADS, KENT CAMS, STAINLESS VALVES. NEW RINGS AND NEW SEALS ETC. THE ENGINE ALSO HAS A CR GEARBOX. AS YOU CAN SEE THE CHASSIS IS OF COURSE UN PAINTED AND IS SOLID. POLISHED AND STRENGTHENED SWING ARM.THE OUTFIT ALSO BENEFITS FROM A SPARE SET OF WHEELS WITH WETS ON AND A STANDARD CBR600 F2 ENGINE THAT RUNS WELL. THERE ARE ALSO SPARES WHICH INCLUDE CLUTCHES, SPARE BRAKE PADS ETC AND RADIATOR ETC. I'M SURE THERE IS MORE THERE TOO. THE PLASTICS ARE OK AND USABLE BUT COULD DO WITH SOME TOUCHING UP HERE AND THERE TO MAKE PERFECT. NEEDLESS TO SAY SHE IS RUNNING ON TOTAL LOSS. SHE IS PRETTY MUCH READY TO RACE SERVICED INCLUDING FLUIDS CHANGED ETC.I ALSO HAVE, A FAIRLY NEW TRANSPONDER THAT COULD GO WITH THE BIKE, SHOULD THE PRICE BE AGREED.

I AM ABSOLUTELY GUTTED TO SELL THIS BUT NOT DESPERATE TO SELL SO IT WILL NOT BE GIVEN AWAY. IT IS A VERY CLEAN AND LOVED OUTFIT. IT CAN BE PUT ON THE ROAD WITH VERY LITTLE FUSS BUT IT'S NOT SOMETHING I WILL DO. NO OVERSEAS BIDDERS PLEASE AND FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. OUTFIT IS ADVERTISED ELSEWHERE SO CAN BE WIITHDRAWN AT ANYTIME. I'M A GOOD COMMUNICATOR SO PLEASE DON'T BE SHY.

    CASH ON COLLECTION.

FOR FURTHER INFORMATION PLEASE CALL LEE ON 07515796400

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SIDECAR-RA...item234b4aea5e

FORMULA 2 SIDECAR RACING OUTFIT FOR SALE.

DUE TO A NEW OUTFIT THIS ONE HAS TO GO. IVE OWNED THIS OUTFIT FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS AND IT HAS SERVED ME AND MY PASSENGER VERY WELL AS WE WERE BOTH NEW TO THE SPORT.

THE OUTFIT WAS BUILT ON THE ISLE OF MAN BY A GUY CALLED GRAHAM HAYNE SOMETIME BETWEEN 1993 AND 1996. IT WAS BROUGHT ACROSS HERE AND SPEND A FEW YEARS ON TRACK AND HILL CLIMBING BEFORE COMING TO ME. THE CHASSIS ITSELF IS VERY WELL BUILT AND MADE TO LAST ALTOUGH IS A LITTLE HEAVIER THAN MORE MODERN OUTFITS.

THE CHASSIS IS RUNNING A SHELLBOURNE WHEEL BASE AND COMES WITH 3 SLICKS AND 3 CUT SLICKS FOR IF OUR WONDERFUL WEATHER IS ITS NORMAL WET SELF. FOR BRAKES ITS RUNNING AP CALIPERS ON THE REAR AND THE CHAIR WHEEL WITH KAWASAKI ZX6R DISCS AND CALIPERS ON THE FRONT, FOR SUSPENSION THE OUTFIT HAS MAXTONS FRONT AND REAR.

THE ENGINE IS A 2001 HONDA CBR 600 F-SPORT ENGINE WITH INJECTION (PC35E). ITS TUNED WITH CAMS RUNNING A POWER COMMANDER 3 MODULE TO CONROL THE FUELING. SEEMS TO HOLD ITS OWN AGAINST OTHERS AND HAS THE BENEFIT OF BEING CHEAP TO PICK UP ANOTHER ENGINE IF NEEDED.

OTHER CHANGES BY ME ARE A 2013 TONY BAKER FULL FRONT END INCLUDING BOTTOM LOOP, FORKS AND BARS. A FULL NEW EXHAUST SYSTEM DONE BY NRP AND WE ALSO PUT A WIDER REAR WHEEL IN THE REAR WHICH WAS NEW AT THE BEGINNING OF 2014.

THE BIKE WOULD COME WITH EVERYTHING LISTED ABOVE AND THE FAIRING WHICH IF IM HONEST THE MAIN FAIRING HAS HAD A FEW KNOCKS AND ALTOHOUGH USABLE COULD DO WITH REPLACING. ALSO COMES WITH A SELECTION OF DIFFERENT SIZE REAR SPROCKETS AND A SMALL BOX OF BITS INCLUDING SPARE PLUGS, WATER PUMP, LEVERS ETC.

THIS BIKE WOULD MAKE AN EXCELLENT STARTER BIKE FOR ANYONE WISHING TO ENTER THE SPORT AS ITS READY TO GO. PLEASE BE AWARE SOME CONROLS MAY HAVE TO BE ALTERED DEPENDING ON YOUR SIZE. THE RESERVE ON THIS MACHINE IS NOT HIGH AND IF IT SELLS THE BUYER WILL BE GETTING A DAM GOOD DEAL ITS JUST THE NEW BIKE ARRIVES SOON AND I CANT RACE TWO.

PLEASE REMEMBER YOU ARE BIDDING TO BUY NOT COME HAVE A LOOK, IF YOU WISH TO VIEW PLEASE CONTACT ME AND ILL GLADLY SEND YOU MY NUMBER TO TALK SOME MORE. IF THE BIKE SELLS COULD WINNING BIDDER CONTACT ME TO ARRANGE PAYMENT AS A DEPOSIT BY PAYPAL IS REQUIRED AND ILL ACCEPT THE REST ON COLLECTION. OVER SEAS BIDDERS ARE WELCOME TO BID HOWEVER YOU MUST ARRANGE YOUR OWN TRANSPORTATION AND COLLECTION.

Very cool, thanks for putting that up. Bit hard for me to look at seeing we have just cancelled everything we had booked to go there this year due to the accident.
