No have a go day then? Hmmm.
Manfeild now have the back track separated completely from the main track. Why don't we run it there instead? On a different weekend than the truck meet so we can get some testing in there. Never done the full Taupo track on a chair...while it was running properly.
Do it on a Vic club day.
Taupo small track is ideal for the have a go day because it is three left handers of very different style, with one right hander, (forget it with a virgin swinger on board) so perfect for giving swingers a first buzz, it's a short track, so three laps only take three minutes & that keeps the rides turning over, it's cheap to hire, its easy to marshall with only three points, & it already has a history of many have a go days.
Manfield would be a disaster with the infield complex that keeps an experienced swinger very busy even on a good day.
I've personally never seen it used so can't visualise the problems - but....
In NZ now, Motorsport NZ have a policy similar to the FIA of only approving circuits - or part of circuits - for use in one direction only. Motorcycling NZ don't have the balls to go against this these days so the days of doing a couple of races in the "wrong" direction at a club day have gone for ever.
I would assume the extension has been approved to run in the same direction and as a part of the main circuit so no reverse direction running would be accepted. If you have an MNZ steward and a permit for the HAGD, you'd have to accept the rules too....
