Big rod ends would be my go to, now that I think of it.

    Adjustable ride height!

Ours had bushes when we got the chair Shaun. They were just fucked. So we made some more.

I'm not using that windle front end, just have it here to look at, will be making one from scratch.
If you did use that windle front end it would turn corners really good one way.

I investigated what it would take to straighten that front end out. It could be done, but it wouldn't be fun.

I looked at copying it and it's construction too. Decided I could buy a replacement for less than the bending gear required.

So I let Alan give it a clean and send it back.

They all do that. It's the inherint issue of an asymmetric vehicle.

If we can get it to a Southern festival, be interesting to see the NI guys reactions.....
Tell him I am keen to thrash it for him, you'd need new exhausts, you wont even be allowed to start it with what it has

Because they're dumb, although even my mate Louis uses them in the front of the LCR on the bottom pivot

That's what he's talking about. Mr Windle does the same I think.

I still think rod ends has merit.

I don't - unless you have the budget to replace several times a season. If you're using them as a rotating bearing, they wear quick.
Remember the Britten front end ? Patter problems cos the rod ends wore bloody quick, and any wear there meant patter.

There's a car suspension trick of using the spherical bearing piece in a tube with wedge rings welded either side. Used for wishbone pivot shaft bearings on race stuff with a short life span. Useful if the chassis flexes as it'll self align.

Yeah, I can see myself doing a lot of work on it...And the original builder is an old mate of mine too, he'd be keen to have a punt. Trouble is, he's the size of an All Black lock....
