Or he sits in the middle, but way further forward, so we get more rear wheel sliding for a higher speed right hander like turn 3 at the Creek.

I am blessed to have such a 'thinking' passenger on my rig, as most of the time he just knows where the best place to be is. If it doesn't work, I don't have to tell him, he already knows! He makes it look easy. And believe me, it aint!
Over the years, I've watched and listened to numerous teams nut out a lap of a circuit. Me and Bob just know! Eastern Creek for example - never seen the circuit, 1 warm up lap, 1 flying lap, and that's all we got last year, 1 lap! Qualified 4th out of 29 - behind 3 LCR's! Poor Bob never even got a chance to even view the circuit direction, but was in the right place at the right time for each corner (except turn 8.....). LEGEND!!
And all I was doing was trying not to fall off & get used as a soccer ball by 24 sidecars.
All I can say, is that the sidecar tells you what to do, if it feels wrong, then its probably wrong.
I have quite often lately considered making a dvd, how to swing on a sidecar, with Ritchie Lawrence, Rat, Kick & maybe Spyda as the voice over, narrator guy, to help the new guys to racing.
Does anybody think that would be a good idea?

As long as all those guys leave their helmets on I reckon it would be a choice idea.

Don't see anything wrong with it, there's a video called "On any other Sunday" shot in the UK club scene which has some good instructional stuff in it about swinging on different outfits

Even with the two long outfits I've spent time on there were major differences between them so there's no "one size fits all"

Best thing I found in my first couple of years was following similar outfits and watching what the more experienced guys did

    yip..

if you made a bunch of raw footage I can edit it down etc of it if no one up there can do it. and then you voice over the edited footage. and then burn many many copies on dvd and hand them out at race/club meetings

    promo shit..

even girls in singlets handing it out..

just a cut n paste from Agip bikes old swinger Vince..

"..With regard to the rear platform extention....it was deemed illegal as according to the rules (at the time) no platform could extend behind the rear wheel and thus we were forced to cut it off. Not sure about the current regs...haven't bothered to read them of late."

"..and yes....we ran a similar engine to yours....1989 FZ1000 A (later modified to B spec) although we had 39mm flatslide Keihin carbs...yours appear to be standard.."
    end

    - it used to run some 1135 motor eh, then switched to the unit or similar it has now.

wouldn't mind some sweet carbs if they fell in my lap
