I think it was noise rather than power loss that made him cut it.

No no no, you've got it easy.

The box on your motor is nicely even between 2-3 3-4 4-5. The RF is gold till ya go for fourth, and the rev counter plummets 3.5 thousand RPM right out of the power.

Dont fret, the REAL superbike will be all set for Wangas with more horsepower and reliability than it had at the Bazza.

OE genuine guides and tensioner blade, yes. Suzuki tensioner, no - I've seen them back off wih agressive cams.
Make or find a manual tensioner - and lockwire the bloody thing.
