    Comments on this new PC?

Looking for a new (Windows) PC for my boy, around about the $1k mark.

He doesn't need anything too flash, but I do want to get something with graphics a step or two up from the built-in-to-the-CPU stuff.

I can't be arsed buying bits and putting it together. I like local (Wellingtonish).

I've stumbled on this (new) guy, via his auctions on TradeMe, and like this box (seems good value): http://dgtronics.co.nz/products.php?...c4ac6722c001d1

Comments? Better suggestion? (Have compared with Quay and Atech and it seems pretty good).

    Thanks,

Good specs, decent brands, local service, can't go wrong imo. Can you buy me one too?

Get a better PSU, but otherwise it seems great for the price. Ask to upgrade the PSU to a cheap Corsair, shouldn't cost more than $50. Also make sure that it's not a Green HDD as they are slow as fuck (20ms seek time, I have 2 of them).

If you can, and you son doesn't need the space - swap the hard drive for a smaller solid state drive (SSD). They tend to run faster.

I don't think I've found a boy yet that would survive on 120gb ish... unless they were occupied in other stuff, and therefore didn't need that spec in the first place...
