RIP Margaret - and Thank You

    Margaret Mahy has passed on...

Anyone thats had kids in the last 20 years will probably know they name and quite likely even met her. A genuine 100% Kiwi icon and a hell of a nice lady.

I was actually genuinely upset about this. I have great memories of her reading in libraries and at schools to the kids over many many years. There are not enough of these special people who just give and give and about al teach us its actually OK to be a little silly now and then. Our kids always loved her pirate stories for some reason...

Anyway - Godspeed Margaret and thank you for being you...

+1. A sad day, as she was a genuine nice person with a lot of life in her. We should all be silly at times, it amuses our children and our dogs no end...
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.

But, But, Dads are SUPPOSED to be silly arent they?

Very sad such an iconic kiwi has passed on, but what a legacy she has left generations to come.

If my nose was running money, I'd blow it all on you...
