CBR250RR resurrection

So ive got a CBR250RR MC22 sitting in the shed awaiting some time and energy...does anyone have a manual floating round for one of these?? Also the carbs need a bit of work, who would be the men to send these too that wont cost the earth? Has anyone ever had the frame polished for one of these, how much?

haha, polish the frame by hand yourself, member on here Ducatilover will show you the way, he's done it to his frame.
quad carbs will be bout 100 per carb with most people for a strip and clean and reassemble. plus any other parts needed along the way. Better to get that manual and DIY, you'll learn heaps and its not that hard. you can even make ur own manometers n sh*t.

What's wrong with the carbs?
Polishing the frame by hand will take a while, but will look good.

Yeah ive got plenty of autosol and wicked polish that i use on my trucks bling but thought id get it machine polished first as its in quite a state...7yrs of lingering in a guys shed in the naki The carbs are jammed up as when we first got it and tried to crank it over all the fuel came out the overflow line onto the ground. All the electrics appeared to work fine and it was turing over well so i figure just pull the carbs off and get em looked at. The bike is almost completely in bits now, engines dropped out, brakes are off etc its basically just a rolling frame. Just the main wiring loom and suspension and swingarm to come off and then the money needs to be spent

I polish trucks rims every 2 weeks. So know what im in for lol could chrome it maybe but will that work on an alloy frame??

So hows it going?

Im looking at doing the same with my brothers old 1989 zxr250(a) which has been at my parents place for the last 3 years.

I'm not even sure where to start!

So far so good! Rims have been painted black, frame/swing arm/foot peg mounts are away getting polished (i decided to polish as you cant chrome a swingarm as its a heat treatment so am keeping it all matching), suspensions away in the naki getting a dealing too and ive just gotta take the engine to the bike shop to have the carbs sorted out, then il have a crack at cleaning up and painting the engine. Then onto brakes, seat upholstery, new fairings, tyre, indicators etc.....before the big wof/re-rego

Id get into it chicken&mayo but know what ya getting yaself in for lol everything adds up and the more ya can do yaself the better! Im lucky in that ive got a really good bike shop i deal with which gives good advice and service, and a cousin in law who has just done a mechanical course that can help, cheap labour!

The frames all back together and looking mint , steering assembly and front forks on. Painting a few bits and pieces like handlebars, gauge mount before reassembly and reattaching all the wiring loom etc. Rims still need tyres so have to go find some, carbs all cleaned up and put back together and brakes have been cleaned up and fitted with new pads. Still thinking whether or not to paint the engine......and then theres the fairings....

I'd do the engine gunmetal and the covers a dirty bronze/gold. I reckon it'd look tidy and not take attention away from bling frame
Allen headed bolts are mandatory everywhere
