New chain?

Just a quick one,
Has anyone had any issues with a new chain having a tight spot in it?
I have changed a few chains over the years but never really had issues with new chains having tight spots.
Let me know if any of you fellas have had the same issues and if so, what have you found to be the cause for it!

Only when the front sprocket was fucked but I hadn't noticed and changed it.

Got new sprocket both front and rear so can't be that surely.

Back wheel not in straight, rooted wheel brgs/sprocket carrier bearings, rear sprocket not drilled correctly (very unlikely).

New wheel bearings, new sprocket cushion, even aligned with string from front to back and all good.
Bugger! not doing very well here!

EK Race Chain 520. It should be sweet really. Always a first time though.

Nope shaft is sweet, chain just flew the f###k off and broke when it wrapped around rear of swingarm.
According to the supplier, it may be the rear sprocket. It's not the first time he has had one out of round.
Checking that tonight!
Bloody Driven sprocket too, yud think it would be sweet.

Chalk mark the top of the sprockets when the high spot appears, if you keep marking one in the same place, that'll isolate the problem a bit more.

Yea that was my thoughts too. My job tonight, amongst a couple of other checks should find something somewhere.
Thanks for the input fellas. I've thought of most of these apart from the rear sprocket being out of round. Didn't think this would the case with it being brand new, but there ya go! I don't obviously know everything.

I have seen plenty of out of round sprockets both front and rear, mostly aftermarket. It seems to be becoming more common as well, seems the quality of aftermarket sprockets is falling. Not all brands are problems but there are plenty that are, it's the same old story as the price comes down the quailty falls as well.

Yup so i have been told.
This is a Driven sprocket, which is normally related with good quality, but even this one appears to be dodgy!
It's a bugger when your not one for scrimping on the dollar when you buy gear for the bike and still end up with a crook one!

I've had several front sprockets not concentric, if you have a digital vernier measure from the spline to bottom of teeth.It only has to be out .1mm to make a tight spot.

Just replaced bucket chain and it had a tight link that didnt straighten after rolling off the front sprocket but it was ok after a ride. Might have been a bit of x ring seal caught in the roller.

Assume you are talking tight spot like a chain that has a stretched area and then had the wheel pulled back all the way.
