Turiana Banks Race Report: Bridgestone VMCC Round 3
We finally had some good weather for round three. Before I went out for practice/qualifying, Moto Academy Steve had a talk with us about what we could focus on that round, and how we could do it. I hadn't ridden at Manfeild for five weeks. I was excited and nervous, but more excited than nervous.
Practice/Qualifying
For practice/qualifying I was just taking it easy and remembering what I had done before and figuring out where I could go faster and brake later. My fastest time was 1:55.772 which I was really happy about because it was faster than my last round's qualifying time.
Race one
I wanted to keep getting faster and drop my times. I had figured out the places where I could lose a few seconds but I just needed to gain more confidence. I was very happy to see that I had gotten five seconds faster and got 1:50.835. I think I was braking later into turn one, and Higgins.
Race two
I really wanted to keep getting faster and get into the 40's. My fastest time was 1:50.044 I didn't get faster but I didn't get slower so that was good.
Race three
Before the last last race, Moto Academy Steve had a talk to me. He said that if I wanted to get faster then I would have to scare myself, because I looked like I was just getting comfortable and not getting faster. So my goal for that race was to get down into the forty's. I pushed myselfby carrying more speed into Dunlop and braking later. I also carried more speed though the hair-pin. I dropped another three seconds and I got a new pb 1:47.592.
Over all my day was really good, my times were 11 seconds better than the last round. I was very happy and can't wait till next round to get faster again. I would like to thank,K2 racing (Wharfy), the VMCC, Moto Academy and mum and dad.
