Good on them for making the most of the shitty weather and giving people something interesting to watch and smile about
Shame the "fun police" had to come along & notice just how much fun they were having (...bet some council prick asked them to spoil the "non profitable" fun )

...whats happening to this country of ours? (we used to applaude such ingenious thinking and harmless fun...not anymore huh)

    Thumbs up

    Slow day huh Willy?
Shame of it is that it is most likely not that the kids having fun was a problem for the Rossers but the accumulating citizenry gathering to watch them having fun that was the problem.
Purpose built winch? must be pretty quick to haul em fast enough to wakeboard.
Every day above ground is a good day!:

Just a 4wd winch with the reduction gears changed for a lower ratio set.

I've still got a video floating around at home somewhere of a guy on a jetski in the same area of the Taylor River, when it is in flood is about the only time theres enough water to do anything so why not make the most of it.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

LOL, yeah a tad slow in the office today (nothings blowing up or breaking...think me an the techs are doing TO good a job this winter lol)

Completely understand the Popo's thinking and actions (public safety etc), its just a bloody shame that good innocent fun has to be stopped due to the stupidity and actions of others (Or the local council asking for it to be?...actually this seems more likely than "crowds of people" causing a hazard, they could scratch those picnic tables!....father was a council member, seen it before)

But I think its just great that these guys came up with this fun idea to pass the time during this shitty weather...most kids would have just torn along the bank in the 4x4 "towing" there mate along, while ripping the shit out of the park.

Glad to see they are looking for a different location to carry on the fun (lets hope there are no innocent picnic tables or rubber neckers to be hurt at the new site lol)

Doesn't that Dangerousbastard retard do something like that?

I remember him getting stuck in a tree last year and the firemen getting him down, dunno if he's in the Aukland area though Coromandle is springing to mind for some reason.

No idea. I never paid enough attention to what he said, to be qualified to draw paralells.

heh... I can't guide your imagination and to be honest you've creeped me out given the direction you chose... each to his own.

S'ok, I got meself vasectomised, so I can ride with gay abandon. You can take that gay any way you like too... although I'm feeling a little queezy contemplating what's on the other side of your screen.

He is. Might change it back yet.

Paragliding towing is a little more refined than dragging a kneeboard behind a modified 4WD winch, and a kneeboard also wont pull 6G's in a 200km/hr spiral dive. Better work stories..

Paragliding is towed by a boat yeah? How do you get up to 200k's? A boat dragging a parachute would need about three thousand horse power to get you up to that kind of pace.

Or is it, the person swinging in a spiral is traveling at an equivalent of 200k ground speed in a circle?

Or is paragliding the one where you jump off a hill? I'm still not sure about 200k's unnpropelled though.

As an aside, how has the move from enticing kids with icecreams, to arborist gone?
