Let's be sure what we're talking about here. It's the under 17 'Senior League World Series' of baseball. It's not 'another game of baseball'. It may well be the pinnacle of Key jnr's sporting life with his team representing the 'Asia-Pacific' region.

Prime Ministers should not be required to attend dead defense force. Not unless they are getting medals for something at the same time.

I think that the family of the fallen would agree that it is better to spend time with your son at his important life events while he is alive. I'm sure they have been thinking of those times that they placed other obligations ahead of their loved ones. Now those other obligations don't seem quite as important, do they?

Don't make this about John Key or defence policy, or whatever; this is about Rory & Pralli. Two guys who gave everything, doing a job they believed in. The country & the NZDF honours their sacrifice. I have no doubt that there will be plenty of people that they respected far more than the PM who will be present at the funeral.
