Fuel economy for a GN125?

Hope this is in the right place here…

I’m thinking that there may be something wrong with ze bike.
I’m getting quite low KMs per tank - about 200ish for 10 litre tank? From what I read online this is pretty damn low for a GN125. Or is this normal?

My thoughts on causes are -
My idle is set too high
It’s due to the fact that I have to rev it to pieces on the motorway
I’m not filling it up properly (highly likely )
Something is actually wrong.

Anyone got any other ideas on what could be causing it?

Sounds pretty good to me, I get about 150km from 10L. The mileages you've read online might be at a lower speed, which is generally more economical.

Everyone seemed to be saying they were getting between 300 and 400km. But that's prob going 50km not on the motorway.

5L per 100km, yeah, I'd say it was using a bit too much fuel for a little bike, however, it's the GN125 and you're using it on the motorway, so yes, it's going to be thirsty work for a little bike.

At an economical cruise my 1200 will use around 5L per 100km, it climbs if your right hand can't stay still...

Doubt you would get anywhere near 5ltrs though.

Lozza, fill your bike up, go for a tootle kind of run, not having the throttle nailed to the stop, fill up again afterwards & compare the fuel usage with your daily commute. If your riding with the throttle wide open for extended periods it will guzzle but a wee run on & off throttle & up down the gears should show better economy or highlight that you do have a problem.

How much fuel are you actually using to go how far? If a GN125 has a 10 litre tank then you're going to be putting less than that in when you fill up.

Are you using your trip meter to record km traveled between fueling up? You need that number and the litres it takes to fill the tank back up to your definition of full to work out fuel economy. It doesn't actually matter which point you're filling the tank to as long as you're doing it consistently.

It's going to be a waste of time trying to work out if you should be doing something differently if you're using approximate numbers.

250cc vee twin, 6mths old, 7000k's serviced at correct points. aggressive rider.
at city speeds I get 224k out of 7 liters
at open road speeds on flat roads aka, Canterbury plains, I get 194k per 7 liters.
at open road speeds with hills, aka Christchurch to Akaroa return, I get 185k per 7 liters.
Me thinks your bike needs a tuneup...

And I thought my GSXR600 SRAD was bad. 8L/100kmh with open road riding, and 9L/100km around town. Doesn't seem to make much difference how I ride it either.

Something is wrong, on average most of the time you should be around the late 27 to 30 k's pe litre.

Are you comparing how many L of petrol you put in to how many km on the trip meter?
My GN250 was using 3.7L/100km on average, most riding at 90-100km/h.
In comparison the 600 uses 5.5L/100km
