At least with Rossi's return to Yamaha, there may be a battle or two at the front next year. Otherwise Lorenzo would have cleaned up with only the odd challenge from Pedrosa at tracks that suit the Honda.

Will be interesting if Marquez can break into the "Alien Club". Hope someone can cause it aint gonna get any more interesting otherwise..... Don't particularly rate the new entry to the repsol team. Would like to see some one dish out a few servings to him next year....

Where does this leave Ducati? Is it even viable for a company of that size to contest Moto GP?

With Audi money in 2013 that would leave Ducati with 4 prototypes. 2 in Factory team and 2 in Ducati Junior team.

Factory will be Hayden with possibly Dovi
Junior team could be Petrucci, Iannone, Redding, ...?

Whilst there can be no doubt whatsoever that Rossi is one of, if not THE greatest road racer of all time, I started losing the love when he spat the dummy over his Michelin tyres, demanded Bridgestones & threatening to leave Moto GP if he didn't get them. Then telling Yamaha "It's Lorenzo or me!". Then slagging off Stoners performance on the Ducati before he even knew what Stoner was dealing with (boy...how does that egg taste?), now crawling back to the very factory he gave that ultimatum to on his hands and knees without sticking with Ducati until they sorted it.

Yeah yeah the fans will wank on about "that's how serious is he about winning" etc etc etc. But I'm sorry...he is without doubt, also one of the biggest fucking sooks out there.

I think Lorenzo will blow him into the weeds on the fast open tracks, but Rossi will fuck him up on a few of the tighter 'gloves off' tracks.

If that happens...bet the fans won't have the decency to admit that maybe, just maybe...the worlds best development rider/racer ever might not be after all. Yes I know he has nine world titles thanks.

I was a huge fan for years too mate. Just kinda bit by bit went off the guy. But he's done more for the sport of Moto GP than anyone else of late ten fold for sure! At the end of the day...I'd still love to have a beer with the guy! He's certainly a funny cunt.

Bet he shows MM the dirt next year if the upstart gets dirty with him! There's still no one in Moto GP as good as Rossi in a one on one scrap.

That's because you're man enough too. But really, I've gotta say...him going back to Yamaha is also quite brave.

He is taking another huge risk. Although...if it fails, the believers will use the old "he's past his prime" card.

How old was his best mate Biaggi when he won the Superbike Title last?

D'ya reckon he's past his prime Pete? I don't think so, he'll be as fast as he ever was. Trouble is the goalposts are on wheels eh? He set the standard for a long time, and the only question will be has the standard been lifted? Bayliss, Biaggi, McWilliams, Checa....Stroud there are plenty of old buggers who just seem to get better with age. Rossi isn't a broken down ol' man limping 'round the pits, he's still a fit early 30's so no excuses if he doesn't cut it. Still, if you wanna learn how to go fast a slow bike is prolly good training.

I just feel a bit sorry for him having to give up on the patriotic Italian dream. Imagine a competitive Kiwi scoring a ride on a competitive Kiwi bike in MotoGP...only to find it's a piece of poo, you'd be gutted on so many levels.

Is it just me? But, Rossi's vaudiville acts after a win (Yeah, it's been awhile I know) really piss me off. I just thank god I can fast forward.
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.
