Sorry, an update with the BadgeMaker reveals that the order has to go in on Monday so to be guaranteed a year bar, registration and payment need to be made by tomorrow....That's Friday, 19 October.

New ride should be looking forward to another long ride by Saturday 10 November! First ever ride will be 350km which should be a useful warm-up.

The Briefing and Ride Instructions have been sent to the 'Registered' Riders, so if you don't have your instructions it's because you haven't registered....or your inbox is full and the email bounced (James...that's 007 not Menie)

There are 44 Registered riders (assuming the the previous post means Mr H is the purveyor of a fine new steed), otherwise 43 if he has to steal Jane's ride and 42 if neither turn up!! and +1 on all those if Sinned can get off his arse, shake out his tail feathers and flick me an email.

I did order a few extra year bars.

3 are scooting down from Palmy to join the 25 (+2 Hitchers + 1 Sinned) starters in Welly
    7 are starting from Masterton
    2 are starting from Napier
5 will start/finish from Turangi and travel in the reverse direction

If you haven't received anyguff and want to ride....best flick me a PM or email.

    I'll get e,m!
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

Was getting my whitebait fix at Mokau and couldn't help but notice all these bikes going past trailing little yellow ribbons. Asked a rider in the cafe what it was about and he mentioned this ride. Y'all looked to be riding sensibly, I hope the weather treats you kindly all the way home.

Sure did - a bit of a breeze in places but no cloud moisture.

That's the way it should be ridden. It's all about having a good day's ride, with like minded people, enjoying what we do. The last word in the title sums it up. It's not a race.
Note to self... Get more padding for the seat for next year.

Thanks for a great day John. Thoroughly enjoyed riding roads I haven't ridden for a while and being introduced to new ones. That stretch between taramanui (sp) and NP was brilliant. Lets just hope they stop patching the seal on every corner and start doing the whole road before the next time.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

Yep, that was a nice bit. I turned my GoPro on at Turangi and had it taking photos every 5 secs so I've got all of that right thru to New Plymouth - uploading a slideshow soon.

A real shame about the wee off.
