Note to self... Get more padding for the seat for next year.

Thanks for a great day John. Thoroughly enjoyed riding roads I haven't ridden for a while and being introduced to new ones. That stretch between taramanui (sp) and NP was brilliant. Lets just hope they stop patching the seal on every corner and start doing the whole road before the next time.

A fantastic day and a great ride! Thank you linesmen, thank you ball boys.

My piles have had the life crushed out of them. A Z1000 has a fairly unyielding seat, however I think I may grow accustomed to it. Or not.

The new Z corners magnificently, and loved the ride through from SH4 to SH3 via Aria. Just as well, as Saturday nerdlers took all the pleasure from the Awakino Gorge and Mt Messenger.

What a B E A U T day we had, thanks KoroJ for all the efforts behind the scenes - awesome. Thanks also to Insomnia for guiding us thru the Manawatu, cheers Mate!

61 litres of premium for 1033 km's - loved the Surf Highway, the Vinegar Hill diversion, Mt Messenger, and getting off the bike for a Heinie at Turangi. The award ceremony was enjoyed by all three of us, lol

ps No wonder the Paekak Road is sign posted as a Danger Zone with idiot cyclists, hikers, and assorted riff raff- what must go through their heads? Clearly not much lol

One thinks one spotted a Gremlinesque personage just south of the Stoney River bridge yesterday afternoon heading northwards. As well as on Colyton Road earlier in the day. Unless it was some other sticker-encrusted, headlight-festooned BMW GS thingie.

How come I only hear about these things after they've been and gone?
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

We played leap frog. He kept stopping for trivial things like gas and gasbagging. Then he'd come shooting past and I'd find him stopped again. I thought of tortoise and the hare a few times...

I gave you a big wave the second time

    Noted... will try harder

The run along Mokauiti Rd through Aria was brilliant indeed, so much so I even had a rare fang, clearing the carbon from the exhaust. Caught up to STJim and couldn't understand how he was ahead of me. He in turn couldn't understand how he was ahead of shafty. I love how these rides work in mysterious ways...

Shafty and STJim didn't seem to be thinking of much other than their beds at the end in Turangi... I was keen to go again, but my arse had run away

Oh, and I had the opposite. I chased a Holden SS up Mt Messenger. Crackle and burble of a V8 into corners followed by a rumble and a squirm as it got a little sideways exiting corners. More entertaining than going up by myself

The gorge was only just under cruising pace, again behind the Holden after I stopped at the Pub for a pic.

I was very surprised to have you overtake me. I was at that stage convinced in my own mind that I was running last of all the Turangi starters. I was even more surprised to get to the finish and to learn that Shafty and his mate hadn't yet finished. Something to do with not taking a "business lunch" or stopping to check Facebook.
On the whole a great day. I was very pleased to finish in just over 13 hours.
