    2 up racing

A few years ago I submitted an idea to VMCC, having a 2 up race. This was to try and change up the usual manny short 3X6laps routine.

Basically same classes as usual however each bike must carry 2 riders to compete, also just so you don't end up with Sloan pillioning his new born, make it so they have to complete 6 laps.......each. So at lap 6 they have to enter pit lane and the rider has to swap spots with his passenger.

As silly as it may sound I deemed it very possible, you could treat it similar to a sidecar race, both riders sign indemnity forms with the bikes checked to have decent sub frames and stable suitable foot rests.

could it be done, should it be done, whos building a bike for it

Could be good for a laugh. I think you'll need to re-think the swap over rule though, there's probably another way to stop that scenario from happening. I've had a mate around taupo 2 up, pretty quick, but she doesn't ride....only pillions. I'm sure she isn't the only one.

    Bro!

You need to get back to falling out of helicopters and put the solvents away!!!

But tell you what, you and Drew or White Trash or Death 2-up at full tit. Me, deck chair at T7, beer and cell phone to your missus to comfort her when you break your necks.

Passenger and rider must be the same weight otherwise the difference between the two must be carried in ballast.

Would be fun but I'd have to get a bike for it and find a passenger cos the wife wouldn't do it.

I often wondered if there would be any interest for such a class. swapping each race seems difficult, perhaps, 3 races over the day, each rider must ride for at least one of those races?

Chappy, strap a lazy boy to your immaculate 600, I'll sit in it only if you supply the beer, just don't get any ideas about taking me home.

I think the sidecars should be allowed to enter it

Well im lookin at running it at a 3hr enduro race - So maybe we run it before the 3hr to excite the crowd, possibly no switch over, so instead we can flip a coin after the qualifying, so the entrants register as rider 1 and rider 2, then qualify and just before the race a coin is flipped an annoucement is made "rider 2 is on control" ..............
