Yea,I kinda just wondered,Seeing as Im the roadrace commissioner and I haven't seen an application for it yet,Also you cannot release an entry form or accept entries until you have a permit number,Neither can you state classes are as per the MNZ rulebook,When classes like F1 are not in there,Permits for street circuits are supposed to be issued 3 months before the event,Not getting at you personally Murray,But this is typical of what has been the norm until now whereby clubs do not follow the correct protocol and when things don't happen when they are supposed to,Somehow its the fault of the staff at the office.
Sorry, I just made a post to kick off some interest in the event, I didn't mean to over step the mark by any means, any comments on classes are my own, I'm sorry if I got it wrong.
I will let Debbie know that you do not have the application, I'm sure she will be surprised! As far as we know it is in progress.
I'm sure you will hear from her soon.
Cheers
Murray
Don't think I'll race this year, high siding 2 days before my final maths exam probably wasn't the best idea, If I study hard though I should be able to take the day off and drive over.
anyone else wanting to head over on the day flick me a PM and we can carpool/convoy!
GMSR Organiser response follows, hope all good,
Cheers Murray :
Hi Murray
Have spoken with Janine at MNZ and it has been processed, just being signed off at the moment
In theory I should not have sent the entries out but have done for the last 3 years with Permit pending – as I mentioned to her it can take up to a month or more to hear from them
If changes needed to be made I would just have to resend to those already entered and change what is available on line
Cheers
Debbie
No need to apologise Murray,I was just using your event as an example for all to see that its not always the fault of the office when things aren't done on time,I have read through it and sent it back for some changes too be made,As soon as you can get it back to me with the required alterations it will be signed off.
To be honest I dont remember signing off on anybodys permit or entry form this year that didnt need alteration,So your not on your own,Im just trying to get things done as they should be.
Looks like we are sleeping on the beach this year, so I hope its not pissing down. Something about big bonfires and partys.![]()

Interesting ...... at 10.12 today the roadrace commissioner didn't know any thing about the application, yet at 16.05the application is returned for changes???? Either you had it and were sitting on it or you have weird post up thereThe former I would guess. Clubs have enough problems sorting out events without this sort or pedantic nonsense. What the heck is wrong with promoting an event and likely classes subject to the permit being issued, particularly for well established events. Get in the real world. Sort out your pedantic rules to make life simple for all. How can it possibly take 3 months notice to sort out a permit for an established event. The race is exactly 2 months away, I wonder when Debbie sent the application away? You MNZ guys are supposed to be working for and assisting your members - that's us, the guys and gals that pay your ridiculous licence fees and but up with this sort of BS from our sports 'leaders'.

That right there folks is a classic,Ill informed and uneducated MNZ member,If you had absolutely any idea what you were talking about I would be worried,
1/ the permit and entry forms are sent to the office and not directly to the commissioners,I received the said application at exactly 10.56am this morning from the office along with an application from the Southland club,I processed both at lunchtime and sent them back to the office this afternoon,In particular the Greymouth application was returned for the following reasons,Supp regs state the classes are as per MNZ rules,F1,F3 and Formula Greymouth are NOT in the MNZ rulebook,Is it unreasonable to expect you would let the competitors know what the rules are when preparing for your meeting????
2/ It is clearly stated in the rulebook that all street circuit applications are dealt with 3 months before the event,Im NOT enforcing that rule,All I was doing was pointing out the error made so that anybody else who visits this thread and is thinking of running such a meeting,Will have some idea,What is expected of them.Of course I will if you want me to,Pretty sure there'd be a bunch of peeps on the west coast that would be reasonably annoyed at you though.
3/ Debbie sent the application away last week to the office,Unfortunately as the staff member that handles permits was away on annual leave last week and came back to a backlog of work,It wasn't sent too me until this morning,Of course if you add another week we are still not even close to the 3 months stated in the rulebook,The rulebook also clearly states that the permit number must be on all printed entry forms.
To sum up ROGER! As you have pointed out,The commissioner knew nothing about the application at 10.12am this morning and yet as you state it was returned to the club at 16.05pm,Not bad service considering I am only a volunteer and do not receive any of the exorbitant fees you speak of,In fact ROGER,I dont even claim back the $300.00 plus phone bills I incur every month or internet fees I pay,Or infact anything else,If you bother to read the posts with more than your anti MNZ eye open you'd see I was actually trying to do the club a favour,Try reading the rulebook before making a fool of yourself on the internet in future.
