It's a more social field.... More importantly, have bloody Wyndham done anything about the surface ?
I'm told the streets involved have been resealed - went out there for a look while doing the Permit a couple of weeks ago, didnt see a great deal of difference in the stone size, but they DID seem to be stuck to the tar now ..........

Cool, that makes things easier then ?, as we already have a good working relationship with them ?, - Maybe as others have suggested a "back-to-backl" weekend makes more sense.

Back to back weekends make sense....... in many ways however.
Invercargil would have to be the final Sth Is round each year otherwise following weekend wont be viable. Also have to make sure they dont have a car/truck meeting the following weekend also. Or be first weekend (with Nats on second weeknd of two so those who dont want to attend Burt dont have to stay in Sth Island any longer than they currently do)
Personall think last weekend presents less problems all round (with Nats being beginning of the race week) For same reason reason :re people leaving early.
Guess that can be addressed when dates are decided.
Having the whole thing as part of a week long event would probebly give us more clout (re attendance numbers) than any other type of racing. When it came to booking dates.
Some clever thinkin could turn the Invers round of Nats from "why do we" to a "must do"
I for one would book a week in Southland if this happened.

Thanks for getting this started guys - not going to get into why things will or wont work, the intent is to stimulate some discussion.

    Hi,

Entries looking good, approx 100 riders entered, all fields have good grids. 1 week to go.

It's a shame the event doesn't make the MNZ website calendar or get a mention on Bike Rider TV as an upcoming event at Labour Weekend. It would be interesting to find out what it takes to get on the MNZ calendar, I would have thought the permit application being entered into a data base would be it, obviously not.

Thanks to all who have entered, I'm really looking forward to fun and exciting day.

    Cheers

Long Range Weather forecast for Sunday looks the same as in the last few years, Damp start but clearing during the morning. So should be good to go by race time.....Yahoo

Note on the weather - Occassional Showers on the Coast = Mostly Fine anywhere else in the country, it's a trick to make Auckland sound drier than it is :0)

    Cheers
