As of last nite, 249 entries recieved inc Aussies, biggest class pre 82 P/C with 74, has now been split jnr/snr, pre 89, 40. senior classic, 38 350 classic, 36 classic sidecars 16, modern sidecars 18, classic 250 21. more ex nz champs entered plus other top riders, Mike Pero, Dave Ogden, Jay Lawrence, Eddie Kattenburg, Glen Williams etc this on top of previous list. still 1 day till entries close.
Well entries now closed, & 330 bikes entered, a couple of classes added in to take the huge number entered
But why?
Great to see the numbers, but what is it that has drawn these numbers?
The international aspect?
The Barry Sheene name?
Only old bastards on old bikes have the money nowadays?
Only the one event?
Why do we not see proportionate numbers at modern bike events, but which I mean NZSBK?
Imagine NZSBK with even 200 bikes entered.

Checked in with Kev today,Just to make sure there was nothing more I could for them and see if they had everything under control,They are a bit blown away themselves at the numbers,They thought somewhere around the 240-260 mark,Probably a combination of factors really,A/ Its a one off meeting,B/ Its a new and international meeting,C/ A number of the classic members also have Postie machines so are dragging them along as well,D/ They are also running sidecars,Also they have kept the entry fee as low as possible.
