The joys of low level flying training!
XX256 (cn 092/312092). This Hawk is seen here in Gaydon Hangar at RAF Valley undergoing repairs for a serious birdstrike which shattered the canopy, as can be seen, and also punctured the wing leading edges. The mainplane and tail surfaces have been completely removed. Note the shallow dents on the fuselage sides, which have been repaired with resin filler. This was one of two Hawks undergoing repairs for birdstrikes in Gaydon Hangar at RAF Valley that day.

ZG750 / 128 (cn 862/BT051/3420). The result of a birdstrike on short finals to land! The gull hit the port side undercarriage light and bits of glass can be seen above the wheel. The light was repaired later that day,the damage to the gull is clear to see.
