Climbing huh? AbbleGabble has taken to climbing up onto the edge of the glass shower wall when I am showering. And then looks on in consternation at the idiot getting all wet ffs.

You think there is an alternative? We are just a meat-based climbing frame.

The little sods are fast on the horizontal too. Our XXL Bombay was confused when this SP girl arrived to invade his domain. It rapidly turned into a brown flash followed by a black flash as they raced around the house. Best of mates having a great time!

That's fine. Try having a litter brought in by mum to look at the human without it's coat. Then the demonstration of how sensitive they are without it....

I frequently get the impression I'm just a science experiment for them.

It has been cold enough recently for us to start running the heater now and then. Tommy discovered the warm heater vents when he came to visit several days ago, but he had to work around the table that is in the way of the vent in the living room for a nap. After he moved we pulled the table about a foot away from the wall to give him access to the vent. It was easier to do that than to worry about him being less than maximally comfortable.

It is interesting how furniture rearranging is done to benefit the visiting feline overlord.

    cheers,
    Michael

Sam, a 18 month old old stripey blue is our latest cat. He was found by a local farmer as a wee kitten living in some hay bales and was given to a rescue centre where he lived for a year. Talks incessantly. Annie, our 8 year old tiny tabby bosses him about. She turned up in our garden 8 years ago as a very hungry kitten and never left. She's a fantastic mouser. If only she wouldn't bring them inside.....

a few years ago our daughter had a cat, ollie, he used come have a shower with me, was not afraid of water, when we lived in CHCH he would turn up home with fairly large goldfish, we didn't have a goldfish pond. he used to sit on my shoulder at the tea table and expect to be fed, when i went back farming he adapted from city life to farm life real well, he would jump up on the calf feeders to get a drink while i was feeding the calves, kids used to get annoyed when we got fish and chips, i would get two pieces of blue Cod for me and give Ollie half a piece, the kids weren't allowed blue cod as it was to expensive, he repaid the favour by bringing birds, rabbits, mice, rats, flappers and once a swampy fledgling and drop them by my chair sometimes still alive so they would be warm. had real character that cat
broke my heart when we had to put him down with cancer at only 6yrs old, such a cool cat

That's a beautiful cat. Theres a gorgeous grey cat that comes over the road to see me every time I go out for my lockdown exercise. I cant stroke it out of respect for the owners bubble but I feel guilty.

    Thanks Dave,

For a cat that was pretty much feral, he's got such a sweet narure. He's a bit wary of strangers but he's a real smoocher with us. I'm the same as you with a big tabby who comes visiting. Have no idea where it's from but it just wants to be friends. Doesn't look underfed so that makes it easier just to talk to it :-)
