    Brake fluid?

    Hey All

I have been having a few problems with cooking break fluid. One race meeting and the fluid is black and brakes drop of at the end of the day. I am just using bog stock fluid. The brakes were rubbing a little. Anyone got a recommendation thats not super pricey?

Best stuff I ever used in the 600s was spectro, helped heaps with fade.

do what I do, ride slow enough that you don't need to brake much. easy fix.

    Yup!...fix the brake rub!
Cos thats where the source of the heat problem is
...probly just a sticky brake caliper piston

Yeah on that for sure. Disk was blue. I think that was the main problem. Its a single sided sliding type. I think the pins might be a little out of shape. Hammer and crease should do the job.

..yup!, thats never a good sign

also check inside the fluid reservoir, they sometimes get "gunk" build up inside the main brakeline hole which restricts the flow...usual simpton is the return flow is restricted (Which means the brake pistons struggle to release)

Nothing that a good strip down, clean, grease* and re-bleed won't fix

    Best of luck!

*I have always used EBC brake caliper grease...seems to work well, but I only use it VERY sparingly as it attracts dirt build up.

I am in love with Motul race fluid. Haven't tried the spectro though.
