    Environment Canterbury training subsidies

ECan is stepping up to subsidize the training courses that are delivered in Christchurch.

This was the same deal that ACC was doing to the end of June. You pay $50, ECan pays the balance.

It's done through Mike Flowers at Mainland, Dan Ornsby at Dan Ornsby Training, and Duncan Seed at 2DriveSafe.

I'm going to offer anyone I write tickets to the choice to do the training instead. Remember though, it's only the motorcycle Popos who are doing that, and then only if they think it will suit the person. Don't just ride around like a dick expecting to have your tickets cancelled if you get caught.

It's only until the end of November at this stage, so if you want to have some fun and learn some skills for bugger all dosh, get in touch with Mike, Dan or Duncan.

PS I don't get any donuts from promoting this.

I'm keen for another one of them since I can't even keep my bike upright in a stationary position

Yep. I'll be doing something along those lines. Just gotta find the course that fits best. Taught myself to ride from reading a couple of books 34 years ago and just piled on experience since then. Be nice for someone to review what I'm doing.

I might even have a bike going in time to do one of these

I did the Duncan Seed one, coz it's based on the Roadcraft system of bike control.

Mike and Dan are a bit more race oriented, though I'm told their courses are now more road based.

Any of them are great, and it's cheap for what you get. I mean, $50 wouldn't even cover my donut bill for a fortnight......

Cheers for the heads up RC. I'm getting things sorted to get in on one of these again. I'm certain (more than if that's possible) that I've forgotten one or two of the lessons taught at the last one I attended.
You only need two tools in life:
Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't.
WD-40 if it doesn't move and it should.
