What condition is your seat base in? You may find the answer is to strip your seat. Rebuild the base then get a replacement new cover over a nice lot of new foamOriginally Posted by NickMcDonald

Hmm possibly, the base has started to crack in a few spots, so a new seat will be ideal.
C'mon lets ride....
The one on mine( a '76) was replaced when got it in '86. Just made of flat sheet metal around 3mm thick bent in a few places with edges and original hinges welded on. Any tin basher/engingeering shop should be able to fabricate one.
Another option is Euro Dave in Christchurch. He may be able to make a fiberglass base using your original as a sample.
