Insurance is the biggest fuck off in my life, but if you didnt have it............
Be sure you have read ALL the fine print, including the letter that came with your insurance policy. There with out a doubt will be something that says, "failure to disclose... will result in the avoidance of this policy" or words to that effect. They will avoid covering you for almost nothing. Competitive events of a motorsport nature, regardless of capacity, will be enough to void your insurance. Been that way since adam was a small boy.

its bloody handy to have to be honest! helps to top up the 80% of ya wages while on acc and also the lump sum payments a super handy, I like the $400 per day while in hospital (overnight) and then another $400 a day for 2 days of "recovery" so for my last biff I spent 2 days (nights) in hospital and then got given 4 days of recovery on top giving me a very handy $1600 for laying about and poping drugs! plus the time off work as well and lump sum payment for a "major bone break".

and the best part is it covers you for everything other then suicide! so why not have it as a saftey net

As far as Death Cover goes you get $10,000 payout if you have an MNZ licence and are at an MNZ event. Just one of the things covered by the licence.

I got cover for no extra cost on an Income Insurance Policy while bucket racing but never tried Death Cover.

be aware of medical insurance. i used to work for a personal injury / income protection insurer. 40% of the premium went to the salesman direct, of which i was one. i hated the work. the policy they used to have stated that they would pay out for lost wages etc, medicl treatment etc if you were hospitalised for 30 days or more. Who goes into hospital for 30 days? (29 days in hospital = no pay out) Not often. Mind you, that was 15 years ago. Maybe its different now. Read your policy fine print.

seeing the slutchy middle managers in the company pounce on the unsuspecting public and sell em shit they didnt need or would ever be able to claim on, made me sick.... i quit.
