    AMCC/MNZ Flaggie Training

    Hi all,

On Thursday 13the September at the AMCC Club rooms their will be a MNZ accredited Flaggie training seminar.

    It runs from 19:30 - 21:30.

All exsiting flaggies are encouraged to attend and all potential flaggies are welcome too.
This is an opportunity (free of charge) to gain MNZ accreditation for the job that you do.
Training will cover the aspects of the job, what is expected from you and what is involved with running a meeting and your role in it.

AMCC will provide light refreshments for those being trained.

Bring a passport sized photo with you for the ID badge you will be given.

    Dont be sorry, thanks for the question;

A Flaggie is an abbreviation for Flag Marshal

Without these people there would be no motorcycle racing. They are the guys and gals that stand track side and communicate to both officials and riders using coloured flags and radio's
For years people have put their hand up to be Flag Marshals and got little more than the obvious respect and thanks from competitors and organisers.
Now MNZ have devised a intuitive training seminar to educate all Flag Maeshals in the role and for those attending gain formal accreditation.

A flaggie is also someone who gets to see a unique bit of action on race day by being the closest to that corner for the day and really gets to know whose got the moves at their corner.
Tis a great job to do

    It's a good day!

Was a marshal on the hairpin at Paeroa last year... Got to jump right in the action and help out riders that made a mess of things, as well as get the best view on the track!
The Honey Badger don't give a shit!

The general perk for a days Fag Marshaling is as said above a free lunch and drink and at the end of the day quite often a beer and a yarn. You also get a few $$ in fuel vouchers for you time too..............oh and if its and Advanced Rider Training Day (ART) a BBQ too

    Sounds about right.
I always had a good time flagging (except when someone had a woopsie on my corner), best seat in the house. Plus I really appreciated the Flaggies help when I had my own woopsie... Good to see proper classes being offered.

A big thank you to everyone that attended last night.
A fantastic turn out and a big thank you to Jim Tuckerman for presenting the seminar.
We managed to accredit 47 people into the world of Flag Marshal-dom.
