I respect the right of the individual to wear a mark that defines he or she, but if its put on young its usually akin to school kids drawing on themselves with felt tips, I consider it litter.
When I see these big tough macho guys wearing tank tops in winter to 'show off' their tattooed biceps, I have great internal mirth.
Tattoos don't 'maketh' the man, but they sure help you spot losers.

Your life is just beginning and you have no hurry.
You need to take a less static view of the world ED.

Yes, tattoos are for life. yes your tastes change, I like different music and food and art now than I did ten years ago. many things change over time, but the point for many people getting a tattoo is that it is symbolic of a beleif, feeling, opinion, taste or love for something at that particular time of their life, something that influences their decisions and perspectives enough that they want a reminder, EXACTLY so that they can look back in twenty years, and remember who they were, where they came from, and how they got to where they are now.

Not unlike the cave drawings found worldwide throughout many different cultures, a persons repeated expression through additional tattoos over the years of their life tell a story, of who they were, and who they are. the are a reminder to the proud holder of what the most important contents of their life have consisted of at different times

so yes, after twenty years you will like different things, but that is precisely the point.

I fucking LOVE my ink. they will remind me forever of my decisions, whether good or bad, they were a part of who I was, and directly contribute to who I become every new day.

I wasn't saying everyone is the same by any means. It was her comments and those of others in the programme that showed the consequences of making decisions that affect the rest of your life.

Her reasons for getting them will not be everybody's reasons but it shows that too often young people are making choices they are going to regret later.

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Essentially, every decision you make will impact upon the rest of your life.

Sadly ... the decisions you don't make ... make more of an impact.

    Yeah.
A good tattooist is important but, most importantly, make sure that you use a professional to check your grammar and spelling.

No such thing, by choosing not to make a decision you've made one

Hind sight is lovely, so is foresight and I lack both of those and eye sight
