I programed and ran one of these puppies in OZ about 10 yrs ago for 8 months when i was young and cocky .
From memory it was only the second one in the country at the time , the boot up operating system was windows 95 befor you went in to Mazak .
We would use both Mazak CAM in built an Uni graphics on sub programs .
So basically a 3 axis lathe with a machine centre head giving two more axis control giving full 3d 5 axis control .
A real head fuck of a machine to run , simply mistakes i made were like not in single block mode going through a new program on a tool change
eg 40 tools in the carousel and have sub tools in the carousel machine set on your bench under a different class of tool ...
a rather large groove / turn tool is not ment too rotate at 5000 rpm being it was ment too be a 12 mm end mill ... out of balance is a big factor at that rpm.

Your video showing a high speed machine centre making a dummy helmet yer maybe not so cool its not gona be used in action , moulds and dies engine blocks yes yes .

The biggest crash i have heard from a High speed machine centre 30 000 rpm full rapid straight into a job clamp sounded like one ton of steel being dropped from 3 M .
