Who needs enemies when there's family?

Hate is a strong word, but I am sure this poor guy is not alone. Being "counseled" to not hate was a tough walk - but does teachings of forgiveness really get us through things like this. For me it helped but it took 25 years.

I just found out the guy is not alone: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=10833309

There are plenty of people in the world who are only too happy to take advantage of any situation.Thankfully there are plenty of others who help instead but they of course aren't news worthy.

Shit thing to do to family, there are some real lowlifes in the world.

So how long did he plan on living off his $33k for, if that was his retirement fund he was gonna be working anyway....

$33k invested in an interest bearing account would give him a $50 a week supplement to his pension for close to 20 years. If you are trying to live on a pension an extra $50 a week would make a much appreciated difference.

It might not sound much but for people with modest needs, it is a helleva lot of money. Its the difference betwen getting a new washing machine and not having one at all. Many older people on pensions live with sod-all savings but just enough to know they can at least buy a new fridge whatever if they need to.

Older people are vulnerable, they don't expect much, and having some dollars in the bank means a lot to them.

Yes, when I was penniless - part of earning my upkeep @ a place for the homeless - was to go around the bakeries and pickup the left overs to go towards the nightly meals. In easter, cadbury gave us their 2nds. There was heaps of other stuff which people donated food - all nameless, thankless, great people and businesses.

For me the older I got the more I understood about forgiveness. I am not saying its easy and I will not dare tell u to try it too - everyone has their own path to peace.

    Hate, Anger and Suffering

    http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=10834058

"I'm angry every day because I just don't get it. I don't understand why and I will never understand why. Why a child? Why give her to us and have her suffer most of her life to have her suffer and die? I don't understand. It's cruel.

"If there is a God, he's given us all this time to fall in love with her ... there's so much more we could have given her. I am angry. I hate cancer."

Well we all hate cancer - and motorcycle accidents....

Sometimes all you can do is say 'well, no matter how much this hurts, today its not me and so somehow I need to walk on another step'. Thats how we have to live life mate - a step at a time cos we can't all be rock stars ....

That wee girl had a shitty break but at least she knew love....

It makes me so bloody angry to read this. To know there IS a cure for cancer, but big "Pharma" is sitting on it because there is no money in curing it! The bastards should all be lynched!

There are actually about 40, mostly related to diet. But there was one discovered in South America that the locals use, extracted from the bark of a tree. Big Pharma has been trying for years to produce a synthetic version so they can patent and make money on it. To this date they have been unsuccessful so they are using every trick in the book to keep it under wraps.

As an aside; Big Pharma profits by between $800,000 & $1.2 million on EVERY breast cancer case. Why would they want to find a cure?

    Hes not wrong....

The big pharmaceutical's business model relies on giving you a pill for a specific illness. However that not really how your body always work.. Sometimes you need to have a bit more of a holistic view. There have been many cases where reputable clinics have halted and sometimes reversed 'some' cancers by using vegan diets. Unfortunately changing peoples diets isn't going to make them any $$ at all... (although WW do OK out of it) This isnt quackery but scientific fact...

By way of evidence without going into specifics... Cancer and things like diabetes, asthma, obesity, arthritis etc etc and all lumped together as diseases of affluence and occur more regularly in wealthy societies than in primitive ones. If you want to read about it try reading 'The China Study'..
