    Changing chrome to black

Is there a way to do this without the expense of powder coating. Its a rear carrier. Preferably satin black. Heard of Duplicolour two part black chrome which looks promising, assuming its available here.
    And - anyone used it?

But... powder coating is about as cheap as it gets! Would have to be a pretty big rack to cost you more than $20!

would you have to acid etch it first to get the chrome off?

If you're in Chch, try the powder coaters on Buchan st, their work is ok.

    Black ceramic. Looks a treat.

You will need to check with coater if doing it over chrome is a problem.

I know powdercoating can be done onto chrome as long as it's not flaking. However, powdercoat I would have thought would melt and go gooey the moment your exhaust gets hot.
