Well we run them at all the SI street circuits except Wyndham - too many classes there.

If the usual race classes keep dropping entry numbers it's well worth the organisers looking at buckets.
Greymouth is big - well over 30 in the bucket field and entertaining as hell....

    .
I'd be quite keen to try one of these one day, If I had to pick which one would you recommend? Nelson already has extra credit because It's a nice place and quite close.

Unless Nelson has changed considerbaly go to Greymouth, much better organised and run

Actually I just remembered Nelson doesn't run Buckets anymore so you don't get much choice

I'd try and organise a bucket street meeting, at the new business park on Alexander road in Upper Hutt if I thought I could trust racers to show up after they said they'd do it.

But I don't think buckets have a place at Wanganui...or Paeroa. Haven't been to the other meetings or seen the tracks, but for paying customers to spectate, I hope there are no straights.

I'd had a look around there with that in mind but it would be hard to make it interesting.

There have been quite a lot of small 'street races' around the place. All before I've been racing but I watched some.

I don't think it'd be that hard. Use the little cresent with the driveway curb bits in all, that'd sort the men from the boys. No girls allowed!

I recall a meeting at railyards in Feilding (?) that took in a slope up to a loading bay. Meetings in Hamilton at the polytech(?) took in a bit of loose grit in the carpark and speedbumps on the roads in and out. Jim Steadman was sliding his bucket up to the curb on the loose grit and we broke a rose joint in the front suspension on the sidecar. Fixed it eventually by brazing the rose joint back together and carrying on. Wanganui is fun on a bucket and due to the nature of the track the buckets aren't any slower than mid-pack F3, years ago anyway. F3 may have gotten faster but buckets have probably gained even more. The supermarket carpark in Palmy was fun and so was the track through the gardens. That ruined a few families quiet picnics. Running round the wharf in Wellington was fun even if it did piss down the whole time and some poxy book sale thing meant the space available was reduced. There was potential for tossing it into the harbour if you REALLY screwed up. Foxton in the dry or wet was an awesome track where the locals turned up and showed real interest. Morly taking a shortcut down the back across the grass where the river had flooded was amusing. I was waiting for him to disappear into the river.

There's definitely potential for fun in the more irregular tracks. Probably getting harder for the organisers nowadays though.

Its a shame they stopped all that, I do remember watching morley do that as well hahaha even the square of feilding was a good turn out, its stupid how the pc police came along and put a end to the esplanaed saying it scared all the birds yet they had them stupid skaters and a starting gun go off all the time... go figure!

dunno if they have a place at wangaz but at least the racing would be right thru the pack not like them pesky trikes!

Methven is a great days racing. Its run by CAMs who also host the Battle of the Buckets. The track is about 1.1km 5 corners plenty of spectators on easter saturday. Weather is usually good. The best class for the track is F4, bit short for the big bikes. the other classes are mostly classics and posties , i think there are also chook chasers and a Formula methven which is an invitation class for modern bikes. they set it up at 5am and its gone by 6 pm.

I've seen at least one bucket running around at Paeroa and it wasent doing to bad. Not the fastest bike out there but then again it's not the fastest bucket either
