*This group will be doing the Matauri Bay loop on the way up, those that don't want to can join another group when leaving Paihia.
*If anyone wants to change now, let me know via pm
Could I tag onto this group just for that stretch?

I will put my pegs down and take Tony on some of the best corners in the world instead
I hope it's only right handers, scraping your peg on a left is heroic! Have clean undies handy.

Thanks to Virgil for the link to the thread (learner poster).

Bed allocation - I'm easy. Apparently I snore on the rare occasion. I've never heard me, but I have earplugs anyway.
Ride group allocation - Again I'm easy. I prefer a max and min speed of 5kph over the posted limit (consistent). Although happy to slow down on straights.

I have a brand new battery, but I'll still throw in my jumper leads.
I will add you to Group 1, that Mark Waters fulla might need looking after....

As long as you (and everyone else) has the best three days away, then the logistics of what goes on, ultimately does not matter..

    Translation..........Yes!

Cape again next year, I can still hear Tony's words when he was laying on his bed looking out over Cable Bay...
''How can you not be in awe of this place''

Might look at making the Cape the annual Saturday ride, just find a new lunch venue...

At least we have the numbers required to reserve a table at Waipu Pizza for lunch on the Sunday...

OK OK...back to the cape next year etc etc...there are some lovely roads on this years alternative route...namely north bound on the Mangamukas...those that have not been on the part of SH1 as yet, will be very thankful they have by the end of November 17th.
Taipa to Rangatihi...another real nice bit of road..30kms of sweeping country riding.
Paparoa/Oakleigh on the Friday....say no more!

I can hand on heart say they are some of the best corners I have ever ridden. I cant wait to do them again, this time on my Millie, last time it was on my old Blue Bitch that handled like a piece of shit

Here is a 7 minute video of the Mangamukas..it has been compressed in 7 minutes by speeding it up, but you'll get the picture.

Fast forward to 2:30...thats where the fun bit starts.
Even sped up, you get get an idea of the camber through some of those corners.
Probably a good 15-17 kms worth of bendy bits.

That video gives a whole new meaning to "dash" cam. Started to feel a tad queasy actually.

Sweet, yeah no doubt about that. The high revving 250 is a blast through the twisties, as long as I make sure I'm in the right gear and keep the revs within the top half range. lol

Looking forward to meeting all of you, havent done a group ride this long yet.
