Al, sorry for not recognising you going in to Kaikohe, what where you saying? Can I have a shot on your bike, hmmmm? Jas said Monique said she's dumb for missing the turn off, but her guardian angel made her day.
First time I've had a bit of a fang in eons too. Gaaaawjus!
I was trying to tell you that I was pulling out, doing a U turn and going back to waitangi to meet up with ulysses guys. Main reason being that I suddenly realised that I was hungry cos I didn,t got no brekkfast! You wanna ride the buell? Sure.

Great crowd, would have rather gone twin bridges but hey, stomach ruled the day!
Someone asked me if I had been doing burnouts, and when I got to waitangi and looked at the rear it was starting to chunk out quite badly! I was told that those tyres kinda fly to bits just before they wear down.

At least I got to do a U turn!

I've not met such a nice bunch of people in a very long time! I felt extremely comfortable and welcome. Thanks for taking the time to organise all the small details and I look forward to the next one. Most definitely worth the money!
You did really well, that was one hell of a challenge on Saturday, no wonder you were tired at the end of the day. I think we were all feeling it to some degree.

Go to your bank and arrange a 3rd party cover immediately! It is cheap as chips and you are at least safe from any damage you cause to others.

Well not technically a U-turn, but that loop through Kerikeri was enough of a U-turn for me Was lovely to see you, I missed Mama Jo. Best we take the time and come up for a visit soon methinks

Thanks everyone for another awesome ride. Good roads and good company, couldn't ask for more really. Even the rain didn't take anything away from the weekend.
Glad I had to today off work. Cleaned the bike and chilled out.

Can't wait to see the photos and hopefully Matz got some vid of the twin bridges part of the ride.

If anyone is keen for ride PM me. I have odd days off so could do some mid week rides.

Well I can only echo the others in voicing my thanks to all concerned for just an awesome weekend. Also to MarkW, your hints and tips and expertise with the local roads I thought was invaluable.

Some highlights for me? Well, doing the lovely Matauri Bay Loop, all those lovely corners and I manage to drive into a fence in the middle of a straight ... it wasn't all my fault though, the far cough big cow that I had just bounced off had a lot to do with it. Note to self, even slowing to about 30 k's is not enough when moocows are on the loose, they are so unpredictable and likely to change direction and charge you any second!

There's something special about riding in the rain, which is quite lucky as we were well blessed on Saturday. Some lovely back roads and even more unsealed back-back roads if we needed more! Barry the BMW came through just fine, an bit dirtier but nothing that didn't wash off.

So nice too see lots of familiar faces, and some awesome new faces, thanks everyone for the friendliness and companionship.

I'm ready for the next one ... when is the next one? Is it time yet? Is it? Huh? Huh?

I still haven't gotten around to cleaning my leathers or my bike. I went for a ride with a friend of mine and his response was "what the hell happened?!?". Did make me chuckle...

Thanks to everyone for the advice and support and the checking mirrors to make sure I've not been lost over the edge of a cliff somewhere haha. It definitely made me feel included and has increased my confidence a lot with riding.

Can't wait for the next one! Feel free to PM me if you're ever keen for a ride. I'm based on the North Shore but happy to travel. I'm also arranging a little ride to Raglan and Hamilton from Auckland on 2nd December if anyone's keen.
