...i operate from under a bridge...but i think i may have meant something like that...not that it matters, it's all just words from a fairly well off bunch of people talking about a lot of people who have an age old justifiable belief, that we are cunts...somewhat like our beliefs of them...historically i think we goaded them first...and i dont really think any of us of the true blue, chosen as the 'dogs bollocks' by 'GOD', whitey type fucks are running away..we are just being caught up with...
Gotta admire the Singaporeans. They believe in walk quietly and carry a big stick! When I was there in '07, I saw chinooks and apaches doing a flypast. My brother who'd worked in the defense industry then told me about the planned purchase of F-22s that got cancelled and so the Singaporeans were looking at the F-35 instead.
Meanwhile, while waiting for the F-35 to be available, they went ahead and placed orders for the readily available F-16G or F, whatever that was the latest version, just "to tide them over until the F-35s arrive"...The Singaporeans also have Leopard main battle tanks, the German equivalent of the Abrams. All that for a population of NZ and the area of greater Auckland!
But of course, when you take into account the 24 million of Malaysia just north of them and 250 mil of Indonesia just south...![]()

dont forget Singapore also has compulsory military service and a very skilled armed force
not to mention a very patriotic and aware population in general (I am one of them)and whoever comes a calling better be on their game and very well organised.
Add to that the fact that Malaysia and Indonesia rely on Singapore more than they care to admit for financial support and I suspect our threat does not come from the enlightened members of those countries
As for the crazy nothing to lose violence sorts all problems types of any of our neighbours, all bets are off

Funny, I was watching the Australian ABC Breakfast show (proper news show, not that "Woman's Day on telly" type shit) out here in the Timor Sea, the other morning after nightshift. They had a media expert commenting on current events and he pointed out the dichotomy between the two main media groups, with Murdoch's News Corpration pushing the "violence, violence, violence" line and Fairfax pushing the "this is a tiny minority, most muslims abhor these actions" line.
From Wiki: Australian media ownership has been described as one of the most concentrated in the world.[1] For example, 11 of the 12 capital city daily papers are owned by either Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation or by John Fairfax Holdings.[2]
Just goes to show the power of the media, and the power of a sensationalist headline. Blame the media if you like but you've got rocks in your head if you believe everything you see without question.
Realistically we're talking about a city of 4.5million people, so what proportion is the couple of hundred fringe dweller's who demonstrated? Of those couple of hundred, many were openly appalled and shouting down the loonier sloganeering, so how many of that couple of hundred represent the violent fringe? Now compare that tiny group with the thousands of CFMEU unionists protesting the Grocon building sites the previous week, where violence also erupted. Get some perspective people...but then perspective doesn't sell papers or pixels eh?
Oh yeah, did anyone else see the overhead shot of the Muslim guy standing in no-man's land between Police and Protestors, arms spread wide, appealing for peace/calm? Fuckin' brave man, and his actions spoke louder than any rabid dog's words....on either side.
