Yeah what a blast from the past he is! He popped into the shop a few weeks back. He hasn't changed one bit from when I used to dribble all over his and Mike Webbs TZ's! He told me he still has his TZ tucked away.

The truth. The TZ250S was Brent's that he took to Europe. Myself . Beaker and Peter Daniel went thirds in it when we bought from the Jones. (note to self what was i thinking back then never go partnership with ownership of a racing motorcycle). Beaker kept crashing after he had an accident running up the back of Nathan Spargo at Manfeild. Beakers eye problem was much later diagnosed as a result of that crash. Beaker and I had a parting of the ways , which was a bit bitter at the time. The reverse U model that we order was $30,000! new . The resulting spliting of the partnership and the stock market crash , marriage break up and what ever else caused us to back out(in other words no $$$$). Luckierly John Reid came along and bought the bike from Mollers and him and mechanic Chris Evans had a fair few seasons out of it and as I under stand it still has it. That was the only New U Model imported at the time. Any others were imports.By the way the TZ250S is still alive and kicking as is owned by Andrew McLaren and is raced in some North Island events.

Beaker raced for a while afterwards and went overseas as a mechanic and last I heard (2000) was living in Auckland.

    Cheers

Eddie Kattenberg took over the riding of the TZ250S , then it was sold , never to be seen again by me till this year.

    Cheers
Beaker raced for a while afterwards on an RGV and went overseas as a mechanic for Oscar Rumi's World Superbike Team with Norris Farrow and last I heard (that was in 2000) was living in Auckland.

on of the best ever moves I've seen at wanganui was Andrew Stroud riding a big CR honda pass JR on the right hander in the esses and JR passing stroud on the left hander, big CR dirty bike h bars and a little TZ

John brought the TZ back out for the 50th Cemetery Circuit reunion and rode, not even sure what the story is with the 60th reunion and race meeting as to whether JR might have another ride there. he's there more often than not as a spectator

All the reverse cylinder bikes look so great, wonder why the were hard on parts
My 'W' was super reliable just occasional piston/rings. The 'A' was harder on things from what I recall - has larger ports amongst other things. Reverse cylinders are unique sound.

Found an old ad from back in the day where I'd tried to sell my mine for $3500ono with loads of spares. Glad no one wanted it! My spares are a tank and wheels short of being a 2nd bike.

I've just ordered a few things from Dennis Trollope in UK and will get back out soon.

Yep. If only we'd bought 'em all up. Be doing well now!
