Any good 2-stroke would beat it, buuuuut, if it couldn't it doesn't really matter. You just follow along behind waiting for some 4-stroke bit to break and then tootle past. Done it heaps of times.

Was Mt Wgtn, but a certain lack of enthusiasm and a nagging wrist after a big crash means I haven't really been into it for a bit. Moving to Wellington at the end of this month, bought a shop at Wainuiomata. Will definitely be trying to make the racing at Kaitoke but gonna be pretty busy I think. Dropped a bunch of stuff at John Connor's place last night, Gazza's bike is coming together nicely - 6-speed MB100 with RS running gear.

If he’s bolting a hot up kit onto his bike then it will of course be illegal as a bucket racer.

Last time Speedpro showed Kaitoke ‘how its done’ he emerged very muddy indeed.
By the way the new surface has fixed that area.

LOL- After the recent run (or is that breakdown) of bad luck that Dangerous has had with his CB125T, I've suggested to him that if he's going to spend so much time parked on the side of the track, the least he could do is take some marshals flags with him

When I was looking for a barrel for my GP125 I spied a 76 KX125 barrel. On quick inspection it looked like it would fit with only minor mods required- even the bore was right. Port timing looked about right- just with MUCH better flow... I don't believe in cheating, but I was tempted...

Getting a bit off topic here, but wouldn't it be easier to just buy an KR/RG150 or an RGV250 or something and have more power, better handling, beter brakes etc etc? Or is the whole point that it's 'gotta be a scoota'?

Its more that fact that its gotta be a scooter, I like the look I think nothing looks as good as a SS90 or a SX200, I do hate jappa scooters though, But making something that puts out about 2hp standard, do the ton or pull power wheelies is also part of it.
Im not so much into automatic scooters I would rather own a motorbike, But give me scooter such as a vespa ss90, gs150, ss180, rally200 or a Lammbretta like a sx200, tv200, li150, vega, gp200, A/b/c/d model or even a LD, Hey I will even be happy with a NZETA, mobil, hinkel or a puch. Old scooter cack is where its at.....

You won't get bikes from our shop, more like a loaf of bread and a kilo of cheese.

I've probably been told this before, do the scooter guys race at Kaitoke? Quite interesting checking out some of the gear they have. Obviously a good sized industry supplying stuff for scooters.

I can see where you're coming from now. Kinda like what we do with buckets- take some mild mannered commuter bike and make a racer of it. Of course, we can't buy off the shelf kits to make em go, but other than that it's pretty similar. I've seen some pics of guys racing them somewhere in NZ. Do you do that?
